Yes He is Khan, according to IMDB that is rumored but I've read elsewhere that it is confirmed. I have no idea how that will be written into the reboot. So Sherlock is Khan, Dr. Watson is Bilbo Baggins. What's next?

I still think he's Khan. For me, it came from the line "I'm better than you." At what? "At everything." Reminds me of Monteblanc's line of "My is a greater intelligence."

Isn't Alice also playing the doctor who creates the genesis project?

Thunderf00t - Why 'Feminism' is poisoning Atheism

drattus says...

Fair enough, as I said I hadn't followed it in detail and less so at the beginning than more recent events. At the time I was subscribed to Watson and saw the vid that started this when it was first posted. Don't remember her ever saying who but later Dawkins name came up in the debates and it sounded like that's what they were saying. Maybe they were wrong, or I read it wrong, long ago so hard to say for sure. Regardless, I never expected it to be a debate a week from then let alone many months later.

Dawkins wasn't in the elevator. His involvement came from a few forum posts where he said some stuff that was rather patronizing. Not that I think Watson's position was any less so, but it's a good example of neither side being in the "right".

But in a nutshell... many months back at a conference a woman in an elevator was made uncomfortable by a man, man turned out to be Richard Dawkins.

As I'm getting older, I'm understanding the platform wars less and less. I don't understand why we deride others for their enthusiasm in a product. Then again, I don't understand why our brain is short-circuited into feeling enthusiasm for a brand or product. I'm as guilty as the next guy.

In my case, it's wrapped up in a lot of nostalgia for days gone by. It's also hope for the future- but I have to agree with this guy that everything is broken and nobody is upset.

Also hoping that something is going to come along to sweep all of this crap under the rug- in the same way that the telephone destroyed the telegraph. My bet is on a true AI assistant that we just talk to - to do everything. Something that Siri, most definitely isn't - Closer to Watson, but with the ability to take action on our behalf. A real, C3PO type robot, just without the body - at first.

Vacuous, self centred women take note - this is what you should be like! Down-to-earth people like her and ellen page should be pushed as role models if you ask me.

what's it like being friends with emma watson and ellen page? it must be pretty cool knowing what they're like in real life.

Courting the sensationalist press/social media, behaviour towards fans, and interviews on chat shows.

People like ellen page and emma watson don't spout endless amounts of shit on the first, take pride in the second, and as for the third...... go and watch an interview with miley cyrus - that vapid whore is probably one of the most influential female teen stars around now, right? Yes i remember when she graced our TV and shared a set with dame hellen mirren, and couldn't keep her mouth from spouting such endearing lines as "Watch my movie" and "Buy my C.D." in utter ignorance of mirren.

Does that now qualify me to say who is a better role model in your eyes?

@ForgedReality, it is very much a "girl next door" thing. Maybe that's why people make what seems to me to be assumptions about her personality, she looks friendly, approachable and fun; but then her job is to look like something she's not. I find the girl next door look to be much more enduringly attractive than Angelina Jolie type drop dead gorgeous, but it is just a look. Calling this look cute rather than hot makes sense, but it's sexy cute. My 10 week old kitten is cute but that's a very different cute to Emma Watson!

I'm not sure what you mean with regard to @Kofi. I think he meant that men who grew up with the films and were around 12 years old when she was 12, so that's a fair enough crush - but now, as a 20 year old, they watch the first Harry Potter movie and those feelings are gone and they're left with a little girl who's cute like my kitten, not like adult Emma.
