GoT: Red Wedding Reactions Compilation
I thought it was perfect. And was perfectly book ended by the silent running of the credits.
I read the chapter after watching the show and to me the show did it better.
I wouldn't say it was campy at all, but it did feel a little awkward and not grandiose enough. The delay before Cat's throat is slit was about twice as long as it needed to be.
2001: Beyond the Infinite - The Making of a Masterpiece
Silent Running was awesome too!
Anyone Seen "Moon" (Scifi Talk Post)
It's really, really good. I actually thought of you when I saw it, dag, because I know how much you love sci-fi, and this is the type of intelligent, well-made sci-fi cinema that comes along so infrequently. It's kind of like a cross between 2001, Silent Running and a really good Outer Limits episode. It's definitely one of my favourite films of the year so far. And Sam Rockwell is amazing in it -- I was already a fan of his, but this movie made me respect him even more. Good stuff.
Sci-Fi Film Reccomendations (Cinema Talk Post)
Children of men is a big favorite of mine, I watched that movie many times, I loved the cinematography and I ended up reading P.D. James' book as well.
I don't think I have seen either Silent Running or Time after Time, I will definitely check them out. Thanks.
Sci-Fi Film Reccomendations (Cinema Talk Post)
well, considering who i'm making the recommendations for, i take it i'll have to dig into fairly obscure territory...
i just recommended Children of Men in my last comment elsewhere, for instance, but you've probably seen it.
hmm. ever see Silent Running, with bruce dern?
if you haven't, don't watch this trailer until you have, as i think it gives away far too much.
that was one of my sci-fi favorites growing up, along with this.
which also gives away too much of the plot.

Where is the engine sound coming from? Electric motors don't make that sound. Must be another bike close by. See his video for a 'silent' run

Most of the sources I looked up had the release year as 1972, but Netflix had it as 1971.
