Shortly after the events of this video, Sega announced their departure from the hardware business.

Is he playing that on a Sega Saturn emulator? I remember getting something that looked a lot like that trying to play Soul Calibur for the DC on my netbook

It is pretty easy to poo poo this stuff after a rather poor history of peripherals such as the Power Glove or worse the Sega Activator and Nintendo U-Force. The Sony EyeToy was a similar concept back in the day... hindsight is 20/20 and it will really come down to whether they make useful games for this. Alot of people bought the Wii just for Wii Sports alone initially and didnt give fuck all a care about anything else.

I think the coolest part though is they give each other a high five at the end and their on screen characters mimic the same. There will likely be some sort of lag that is inevitable from frame storing and the fact some TVs lag behind the input signal anyways.

Atari 5200 was bad, but do you remember the Itellivision Controller? It was worse than the Coleco controller.

But if you hate big controllers, I would give the lumbering monstrosity award to the Sega Saturn.

I can't even list my expectations and hopes for this title.

After the inglorious fuckup that was Rogue Warrior pretty much the whole reputation of Rebellion as a studio rests on the success of this game;
also, there is rumor (which makes sense) that the fate of Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines which is supposedly finally due this year and is also published by SEGA will be sealed by the results of AvP; and I can't even begin to describe how much it would suck if a Gearbox project which was penned by Battlestar Galactica writers was canceled.

At least so far the promotional stuff looks promising. Here's hoping the end result won't disappoint.
