Best Car Chase on Film. (Cinema Talk Post)
I'll add Matrix 2 and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Ronin was cool too - nothing like a rocket launcher to spice things up.

Best Car Chase on Film. (Cinema Talk Post)
Holy crap Ronin lame. It's clearly The Final Sacrifice, as featured by MST3k. Canadians FTW.
Best Car Chase on Film. (Cinema Talk Post)
The first thing I thought of was Ronin. Followed by the Blues Brothers and The Fifth Element (ok, technically not a car, but still a great chase scene)
Best Car Chase on Film. (Cinema Talk Post)
^What he said. Ronin's car chase was the best I've ever seen.
Best Car Chase on Film. (Cinema Talk Post)
Ronin, no doubt. Very realistic, excellent stunt driving, fast european cars and nice scenery. My next choice would be Taxi from 1998, written by Luc Besson.
Pc Protection With Hidden Switch
^ not obscure enough for ya', eh buddy?
s'ok. thanks to ox's new power-jammies,
this has a new home in *engineering.
and, in answer to the above:

A magnet of that size is not going to do any harm to the hard drive.
correct, ronin.
it needs only a magnetic field the size a crappy refrigerator magnet generates.
and only for the moment you hit your power switch.
sirex should use his noggin before he tries pokin' holes.
>> ^southblvd:
What happens when you take the magnet away?
yeah, it'll stay on. ^Payback's answer was completely correct.
this is actually just creating a pre-switch, en route to your power switch, which has 'off' as the default state. holding a magnet there allows that gate to open, then you hit the real power switch, and the 'on' signal is allowed back to the mobo. you take the magnet away, and everything's groovy.

Yeah, that'll stop anyone who doesn't know much about computers. It may be 4 EU to protect the thing, but it'd only cost 1 cent to bypass it (since pennies are such great conductors).
poke, poke, poke. some people just can't help pokin' holes.
wasn't meant to keep the KGB out, wax. just your kid brother or something.
>> ^DrPawn:
How about a password ?
yeah. those'll work too.
(who summoned the Legion of the Obvious? yeesh.)
Talk to Kids
Ronin - you started with "to each his/her own..." and in the very next sentence you hope that people who have different views than you can find another way, and "start fresh." That's not the true spirit of "to each his own".
You know what makes me want to be a Hobbit? When someone declares "whatever" in the middle of what could potentially be an enlightening discussion.
Talk to Kids
Ronin, distress caused by polygamy is a culture-bound phenomenon. It's neither innate nor inevitable. If two girls want to double up on one guy and all three consent, there's no reason to suppose that's immoral.
One of the best car chases of all time
Truly the Russian equivalent of Ronin.
Car Chase Scene from Bullitt (best car chase ever)
Heh damn, was just about to post this, good thing I searched for it.
Must've watched this about 30 times when I was really getting an interest for cars; muscle cars especially. The Ronin car chase in all honor, it felt a bit too edited compared to this. The Bullit chase is essentially the mother of all car chases, so they were still on relatively new ground, I guess Ronin et al learned from.
Plus, c'mon, this is a clash of the titans. A '68 Charger vs. a '68 Mustang?! Freakin' fantastic! Just too bad the Mustang won ('69 Dodge Charger being my favorite car of all time ;-). And the sound of those engines.. oh baby :-D
..the award for most realistic gunplay in a motion picture??
whew!
(posted here before? might be thinking of Ronin)
Ronin Car Chase - My All Time Favourite
I'm proud to have voted this to the Front where it belongs...(Ronin is a fantastic film and this Sift has had a hard time!)
