We Believe: The Best Men Can Be - Gillette Ad
Yeah, heaven forfend we end up with a generation of men who think women deserve respect or that violence is a last resort.
That’d be a fucking nightmare.
Toxic masculinity is absolutely a thing, and it harms men as much as women.
But it’s called “toxic” masculinity for a reason. If I said “shit this toxic water is killing us”, would you think I was implying that ALL water is toxic? Of course not. There’s nothing wrong with masculinity or masculine behaviour. But when you define aggressive, predatory behaviour as “masculine” then of course all masculinity is bad. But the problem isn’t masculinity, it’s your fucked up definiton of it. Hence the differentiator “toxic”.
TL;DR don’t be an asshole and no one will bother you for just being a man.
Lets tun boys into boys, not men.
Liberals want a Soyboy Nation of men.
Shame on Gillette for this ad.

‘The Road Virus Heads North’ from Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King (2006)
Hero Sailor Saving Turtles Strangled In Fishing Net
You just know those turtles are sitting in bar right now bragging about how they made human contact and threatened to evolve into our worst nightmare if we don't start wiping our own asses.
Photo Wake-Up: 3D Character Animation from a Single Photo
The Picasso 30 seconds in is the stuff of nightmares, and there are a few close contenders later.
I suddenly have a masochistic impulse to watch Ring.
Star Trek: Legacy
This film still gives me shivers.
The originals teleporter scene gave me a lifetime of nightmares.
The concept gave me a lifetime of inspiration though!
Rome Escalator Failure
That is a germaphobe crowd hating introvert's worst nightmare.
Head Shop Hero
Yo-yo! Over here.
I've got many guns, an I've been smoking >1oz. per week for almost 36 years now. (Ok, to be honest, I've been smoking for 36 years, an oz a week for over 30 though....I couldn't afford or find that much when I was 12.) I think I count as a head.
Now, imagine the raging nightmare I would be without the weed! ;-)
To be fair, I can't think of any actual 'heads' that even own guns. Marijuana has a way of pacifying you.
A Scary Time
Regarding Perry and Counts: that was in 1991. Again it's terrible, but you can't really argue that we're suddenly "abandoning of proof and evidence".
Re Banks: That's undoubtedly terrible, but to me, that's far more of an indictment of the appalling state of the US justice system and the nightmare of the utterly broken plea bargain system (I think John Oliver did a report on it, and I'd also highly recommend listening to the current season of the Serial podcast). He chose to take the plea deal... he wasn't convicted.
I think it's also not a coincidence that all three victims are black. Juries are far more likely to convict black men... that's just a fact.
And again, these cases are notable because they're rare.
The point here is simple. Trump's "it's a scary time to be a man" line is complete and utter bullshit. There is no sudden epidemic of false rape allegations. Are people wrongly accused (and in some cases, even convicted) of rape? Undoubtedly.
But it's not a new problem and it's nowhere near as widespread as the right is making it out to be.
Meanwhile, in the USA someone is violated every 98 seconds, and the President mocked a sexual assault survivor.
One of these is a bigger problem than the other.
The alleged victim's testimony was the extent of the prosecution's case against Perry and Counts. There was no physical evidence linking them to the crime.

It was Banks’ word against hers and she was not likely to change her story. After all, Gibson sued the Long Beach Unified School District claiming the school’s lax security provided an unsafe environment that led to the fraudulent rape. She would eventually receive a settlement of 1.5 million dollars.
Brian Banks was faced with an impossible decision at the time – either fight the charges and risk spending 41 years-to-life in prison, or take a plea deal and spend a little over 5 years of actual prison confinement. Although it would mean destroying his chance to go to college and play football, a lengthy probationary period, and a lifetime of registration as a sex offender, Banks chose the lesser of two evils when he pleaded no contest to the charges.

I'd look up more, but I have to go pick up my wife from work.

Hush now baby, baby, dont you cry.
Trump's gonna make all your nightmares come true.
Trump's gonna put all his fears into you.
Trump's gonna keep you right here under his wing.
He wont let you fly, but he might let you sing.
Papa will keep baby cozy and warm.
Ooooh baby ooooh baby oooooh baby,
Of course papa'll help to build the wall.
Track rebuild: Toronto Transit Commission finishes work fast
In Boston, this would have taken 5-10 years to complete and become an insane traffic nightmare. That's assuming such a project ever got off the ground in the first place.
Oroville Spillways Phase 2 Update July 25, 2018
What a logistical marvel / nightmare. The complexity of some infrastructure that, ideally, we never even see is sometimes just ludicrous.
Cyriak - Indigestion
I love Cyriac, and it's nice to see it's not just self-replicating nightmares anymore.
However, it's not nice that I have an appointment tomorrow morning with a dentist I've never seen before, in a country with a different alphabet to home.
Should not have watched 'one more before I go to bed'.

My wife and I carry a recessive Gene that causes the disease NPC type C
It's got the horrible nick name of "Alzheimer's for little kids"
We found out we carry said Gene when we had our daughter and have this to look forward to https://nnpdf.org/the-disease/the-progression-of-niemann-pick-disease/
A few years ago, Indiana passed a law making it illegal to have an abortion because of genetic abnormalities. You can only have an abortion of a healthy pregnancy. The law was stopped by a federal judge, but other laws have lined up to take it's place, enough that working with insurance has become a nightmare. There are 4 other laws that are hindering us moving forward.
So, again, if we could more easily have an abortion, rather than watch a child slowly and needlessly die, we would, and then wait until we had a healthy fetus.
"Just move to another state" oh, yeah that's so fucking easy
If we had easier access to legal abortion, my family would already be bigger. Not that any of this is any of your business, but people have unique situations that you may not have considered.
What you are you saying. Does not make sense. Maybe you replied in anger and not clear thought.
I'll disregard you comment and let you re reply if you choose to do so.
I agree Some people need to be able to have abortions.. But not just because I want is not a reason.
On an pregnancy note How many ultrasounds do you look at? I've been looking at images for 19 years. We can argue when "Life " becomes " Life" But medically speaking Ultrasounds are moving the goal line closer and closer to mid first Term at the least. You can see the heart beat as early as 30 days but it too weak of a pulse to hear/measure. At 12 weeks you can measure the fetal heart rate.
Trey Gowdy Questions I.G. Horowitz | House Judiciary Commit
Well, yeah.
That's just how much we all wanted Trump to loose.
We were all saying those things against Trump and for Clinton, even though we all knew Clinton was crooked.
She was simply the less of two absolute evils.
And as you can see, all our initial worries over Trump have come true and surpassed our wort nightmares.
And to be honest...
I don't think things would have been better with Clinton in power either. She would have been more clandestine in her efforts, but she wouldn't have been any better for the people of the US.
It was a Loose - Loose situation.
Erlich Owning Kids - Silicon Valley
Erlich. Turns out he's a pretty bad bloke in real life.
He was accused of assaulting his then-girlfriend in college. There's also a bunch of stories from various people (including the creator of Silicon Vallet, Mike Judge) about how he was just a nightmare to work with.
TBF, none of that is proven... but he was DEFINITELY in Transformers, and I just can't forgive shit like that.
Which one is TJ Miller?
