This website only shows the very worst of the Islamic world - radical fringe preachers with little or no public support, unobjective critics of America and Israel, anti-semites, holocaust deniers, misogynists, etc. However, it presents these opinions as if they are widely held, rarely questioned, and representative of the Islamic world. Further more - and this is particularly worrying - the site often mistranslates, or takes out of context, what major Islamic leaders are saying in order to make them seem more extreme and bigotted. For example, although we haven't seen Jews blow themselves up, for over fifty years we have seen the Israelis oppress the Palestinians - including daily humiliation, terrorism and murder and a concerted effort to steal Palestinian land and annex Jerusalem. This is just as appalling as the acts of a person forced to blow themselves up out of desperation.

* Lie #4 - Aluminum Tubes - Bush, Cheney, Rice and Powell said that some aluminum tubes Iraq attempted to buy were intended for use in a uranium centrifuge to create nuclear weapons. These were the only physical evidence he had against Iraq. * Lie #5 - Iraq and Al Qaeda - Bush still insists that there was a "relationship" between Iraq and Al Qaeda. * Lie #7 - Mobile Weapons Labs - Bush and his team repeatedly claimed that Iraq possessed mobile weapons labs capable of producing anthrax. Colin Powell showed diagrams of them at his speech before the UN to justify invading Iraq. These claims originated from Curveball, a discredited Iraqi informer who fed Bush many of the stories related to WMD. On May 29, 2003, two small trailers matching the description were found in Iraq. A team of bio-weapons experts examined the trailers and concluded they were simply designed to produce hydrogen for weather balloons. The simple fact is that QM has never attempted to offer a balanced or objective view of the Islamic world in any of his/her posts or comments and has only resorted to crude name calling and ill-informed stereotypes and generalities. The title of the this video is grossly misleading - by calling your video 'the truth about the present condition of Islam' you seek to paint all Muslims and the entire Islamic world as backward and unthinking. There are billions of Muslims in this world from hundreds of countries who speak thousands of languages. The Islamic world is incredibly diverse incorporating a plethora of cultures and traditions. The extremists and literalists are only a tiny drop in the ocean of modern Islam. They are unrepresentative, and have very little support. However people do support resistance against Israeli and American imperialism, and the vile dictatorships - propped up by America - that rule many Islamic states.

Firstly - I think everyone finds the idea of a man being entitled to beat his wife cruel and wrong - me included. Unfortunately there are people who practice and advocate domestic violence and abuse in all societies and they are all scum.

Secondly - I object to the title of this video. This video has nothing to do with Allah or his message. The detestable views of the imam in question are a product of classical Islamic manuals of fiqh (Islamic law) which owe as much to general status of women in medieval societies dominated by men as they do to the Qur'an and Sunnah. Such objectionable views on the treatment of women are rejected by most modern Islamic scholars. Typically the scholars who advocate such views are literalists who are obsessed with the external observance of faith and enforcing a system of Islamic law which reflects the misogynist nature of their states. They ignore the higher goals of Islamic law (maqasid al-Shari'ah) in their desire to force people to submit to an inflexible and homogenous interpretation of the Qur'an and the Sunnah which has much more to do with preserving the status quo and the traditional paternalistic power hierarchy than trying to live according to the teachings of Allah.

What about people that go around defending nonsensical official government stories. (Iraq has WMDs, Niger is selling yellowcake, Iran is trying to refine weapons grade nuclear material)

In seemingly fact based public discourse, these folks can only run around calling people names, and saying that "everyone has to be in on it". "Surely one person would have come out and announced the government lied and planned it all." It's not like the government is whisking people away to Gitmo just because they have a battery charger, and it's not like the government is monitoring all cell phone calls, emails, banking transactions. Really you'd have to be a nut to believe that.

It's not like 9/11 was done by Saudis and we invaded Iraq. Hey you can't really blame folks who are trying to fill a basic human need of feeling safe, protected, and loved by their government. Where is that tax form again, they're doing such a good job I need to file early.

The only 'evidence' of Bush 'lying' about pre-war intelligence came from Joe Wilson. Remember all that? "Plamegate"? One of the many other scandals the left cooked up which they thought would be the issue they would use to get Bush impeached, Karl Rove 'frog-marched' out of the White House, Cheney charged as a criminal, and so on and so on and so on.

And where is Joe Wilson now? Where are the criminal charges the left and the media were so SOOOOO sure would be levelled? All gone. Because it has been proven that Bush didn't lie. He was right. It was Joe Wilson who lied. It has been documented in British Intelligence that Saddam's Iraq DID try to get uranium from Niger.

The simple truth is, the Dems and the lefties were given access to the same pre-war intelligence that Bush had. And they still voted FOR the war. If it was as flimsy as all that, then why did they vote for it? Why won't they publically recant their votes? Why don't they level criminal charges against Bush or impeach him? After all, if you're right, he's a criminal and a war criminal to boot - right?

Again - if you're so sure that Bush lied, the bring forth the evidence. Bring it to your congressman. He's there to represent you - right? To represent your point of view. Bring your evidence to them, and to the media. Lay it all out on the table and then demand that they go in front of those cameras and declare it to the world. No one's going to believe you if you use comic-book characters like Michael Moore. He's too over the top and frankly he's no more trustworthy than Joe Wilson was. You need to get credible people in Congress or the House to take your conspiracy theories and start using them in their debates and campaign appearances.

Go ahead - try it. Get your elected representatives to use your theories and run with them in the upcoming elections.

But you won't do it. Because you know these theories can't be proved. You can stand there and say "Bush lied" all you want. But you know as well as anyone there are perfectly reasoned and logical counters to them. Any debater worth his salt could blow them out of the water.

Which is why, even if you DO take your arguments to your Congressman, they'll ignore it. They wouldn't dare to use that kind of clap-trap in an actual political debate.

Think about it. Have you ever heard your leftie politicians repeat any of the stuff you see on the left-wing blogs? Your bloggers are the ones who supposedly have 'all the answers' - right? So why aren't they using them to recant their votes, demand an immediate withdrawl from Iraq and impeach Bush to boot?
