Victim (to camera): I'm lucky it's still recording. They tried to rob me here.

I test drove a Honda Fit when my brother was looking to buy a car. Great cheap little car for city driving, but like a Smart car it doesn't really belong elsewhere.

If it was aquaplaning, wouldn't that make it a bit hard for the ESC (Honda call it VSA I think) to sort out the spin?

If this is the same thing as a Honda Jazz in Australia, they're not shabby for safety. Monocoque construction, ESP and lots of airbags.

It does not matter. I stopped locking the doors on the car a few years back and they still break in. I keep nothing in it and have even stopped bolting the stock radios in it. Break ins - 23, Keyed - 4, egged - 5, radios stolen - 9. Wheels stolen - 6, Hit by others 7, Hit by thrown objects - 9, Tail lights broken 3.
Police could not figure out why the car kept being targeted and it was not until a few people had been caught that we found out why.

It seems a large number of people have a massive hatred of Japanese cars or ricers as they like to call them.
Car is not modified in anyway other than after market tail lights. They were 30 bucks and far far cheaper than stock after someone broke the others. Bought the car after a soccer mom parked her SUV on my mustang and I wanted a car with much better MPG and the HX got 39 hwy.

2. Street I live on.
It is the only strait cut through from one road to another so people cutting through see the car all the time. "Oh look we can do something and be miles away before the owners get outside"

Its gone from being a nice little car. To a something being held together with duct tape and with my current job situation means I'm stuck with it for awhile to come.

Whenever I see something like this I always think 'how do the people running these scams get away with it?'

Then I read the comments here and realise people are far too uninformed to understand the problems. I'm not going to say stupid, just uninformed. Physics, science generally and maths are seen as geeky subjects studied by nerds which can be safely ignored by the cool kids because they'll never need them in real life. This leads to the completely uninformed comments above. Anyone who thinks this could work is wrong. If you think it will extend the range you are wrong.

There is a hell of a lot of money to be made from fuel efficiency in cars. Which do you think is more likely: Ford, BMW, Mercedes, VW, Honda, Toyota, Volvo, GM, Dodge, et al with all the hundreds of millions of pounds or dollars or Yen or whatever they spend on development missed something a farmer in China was able to build in his garage - or the farmer in China is wrong? Add to the car makers all the companies who make planes and trains and boats and it shows a pretty obvious fact.

Yep, the Chinese farmer is wrong. Simple.

But the worst thing about this video is that it exists. I'm sure farmers all over the world come up with stupid ideas all the time (as do people from other walks of life too!), but that doesn't mean they need to make a video about it.

I down-voted this video because there is no justice in it. It's ridiculous that you can't pass this bus when clearly the child is not living on that side of the street (no homes). The fact that you would have to sit at that bus and wait for 5 minutes every morning is ludicrous.

One day when I was about 12, I was on a city bus on the way back from school. The bus stopped in what would seem a high visibility area, and a man got off. He walked in front of the bus to cross the street and was killed by a Honda.

Of course, city buses don't have stop signs or flashing lights, and maybe people are more likely to be cautious around a school bus. ...and maybe, most of the time, the bus driver knows whether a child exiting the bus is going to cross the street or not, Still, I feel just fine about waiting for the lights on a school bus to stop flashing before I pass it.
