Alien Kink. I wish I didn't know this.

Ladybeard/Ladybaby- Nipon Manju

lucky760 says...

Approaching 5 million hits on YouTube. *quality

More from an interview of Ladybeard by Forbes:

Forbes: How old are you?

Ladybeard: I’m five years old. I’m a five-year-old Japanese girl mysteriously from Australia with the appearance of an older Australian man. But Ladybeard is a five-year-old.

Forbes: How the idea of Ladybaby come about?

Ladybeard: The sponsoring company, Clearstone, is a costume maker in Japan. I had been on the cover of Metropolis, which is Japan’s biggest English-language street magazine. The CEO of Clearstone was getting off a plane at the airport and saw me on the cover, flexing in a bikini. He doesn’t speak English so he can’t read the article, but he shows the magazine to his staff, and I just happen to know some people on his staff. So they told him who I was, and he said, “Get him in for a meeting!”
So we go for this meeting, we have no idea what it’s about, and he says, “I really want to do this thing with you. I’ve got these two girls, and I want to put you in a [music] group with them. It’ll be like Babymetal except you’ll be in it. And it’ll be awesome!” That’s how Ladybaby happened.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Comic-Con 2015 Reel

arghness says...

He's in an alien costume, just without the head on here, isn't he? So he's likely not behind the scenes, but he'll be wearing a head and it could be anyone.

I could really do without Simon Pegg popping up in it. I know he's a fanatic, just like with Star Trek, and i was his biggest fan during the Spaced years. But seeing his face every time Hollywood decide they want to pull in a few more niche viewers is getting old. I hope he stayed behind the scenes.

Conan Goes to Comic-con Mad Max Style

rancor says...

They should change the name to Line-Con, the convention of long lines to get into huge panels that have nothing to do with comics! Seriously, if you want to get into any of those panels, you will be in line for entire days. I live in San Diego and gave up on it years ago, and will never go again unless they do something about those lines (like a lottery).

Still, walking around the main convention floor is cool (no lines, just shoulder-to-shoulder people in costume), and all around downtown are really neat ticketed events (like CONAN) at other locations such as Balboa Theater. I saw me some live @midnight with Chris Hardwick last year! And no line for that one! POINTS!!

Santa Ana Cops Behaving Badly

GenjiKilpatrick says...

Nice try, Krovven.

Unfortunately, people like @lantern53 are unmoved by sound, rational arguments.

Maybe if you grunt like a caveman while wearing a halloween police costume..

Krovven said:

No other profession has the kind of power and interaction with society that police officers do. When cops abuse that power and goof around on the job, it has major effects on peoples lives.

So yes, damn straight they need to be criticized and even generalized because this shit happens way too often and there isn't usually evidence left behind to tell the whole story.

If your fellow officers would stop acting like power hungry douchebags, then they wouldn't receive so much scrutiny from the public...you know, the people that pay your salaries.

Let's make sure this is clear...this isn't the actions of one or two officers that were having an abnormally stressful day. This was an entire department abusing their authority. Sorry, "the actions of a few" defense goes out the window when you have an entire team acting the way they were.

How to slate for the camera

Reefie says...

Surprised he didn't mention the importance of the colours on the slate for editing purposes. Allows the editor and post-production folks to ensure everything looks right in the final mastered version of the film. For example if an actor's costume appears to be a different colour in certain lightning then the post-production folks can adjust the filter for the whole scene using the colours on the slate as guidance.

The Steampunk World's Fair 2015 - Steampunk Cosplay

Payback says...

As with a lot of cosplay, it's the attitude that counts. Not everyone has costuming skills.

JustSaying said:

So, the Steampunk World's Fair is basically nothing but oldtimey ComicCon? Trow some gears and bolts on you costume and that's it?
There were some truly great costumes but also just some dude wearing a Fez, Thor and a fucking mime.
