Prison is unlikely, this time, but he could serve 90 days on this alone if Merchan desires (and Trump has made him desire it) . It’s a near guarantee he will spend time in jail before this trial ends, he’s incapable of following the law even with all eyes on him and under specific court orders, he has no self control at all, so expect the next violation to get jail time, and all those thereafter.
Any other defendant would be in jail already, this is the two tiered justice system Trump constantly whines about in action….notice he’s always in the “I’m special and above the law” tier.

Outside court yesterday Trump admitted the crime he’s on trial for…paying a citizen for an NDA to hide an ilicit affair (as part of his campaign for president) and illegally hiding the payment as a “legal expense” not a “campaign expense”. HE ACTUALLY SAID TO REPORTERS OUTSIDE THE COURTHOUSE THAT THATS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID! The judge sees these interviews, so does the DA, and they will almost certainly be entered into evidence to dispute whatever nonsense lies Trump spews on the stand, or to explain his refusal to testify if he pleads the 5th. 😂

Oof….Trump is actually arguing in court he can’t be barred from office because he didn’t take an oath to support the constitution, and wasn’t an officer of the United States (not sure what he thinks holding the office of president of the United States/Commander in Chief is then) so his coup attempt and fomenting then supporting an insurrection was legal!

Again, Trump is arguing in court that the president has no obligation to follow, preserve, protect, or defend the constitution despite taking the oath “will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

The judge disagreed. Trial starts Oct 30. This one you can say is just about stopping Trump from running again, but you can’t blame Democrats because it’s Republicans that filed against him in Colorado. D’oh!

Edit: bonus- Trump was just deposed in the Eugene Carrol rape case, and as a civil case he could invoke the 5th but the jury can assume guilt because he pleads the 5th, so he actually testified for 7 hours. Now that deposition, which included questions the answers to which Bragg wanted on the record before prosecuting Trump for bank and tax fraud for fraudulently over/under valuations properties for loans/taxes.
Suddenly not filing this case last year when the investigators brought it to him is genius, because otherwise the civil deposition wouldn’t have happened for years if ever and he would have less evidence.

Added bonus- WI republicans hijacked the emergency alert system during a blizzard/tornado outbreak to fake an emergency alert that was in fact a political ad against the Democratic Supreme Court candidate. More evidence that respect for laws, morals, and ethics aren’t part of the Republican Party.
