I came across this online tiltshift application via lifehacker yesterday, and quickly started to play. The nice thing you can do is download this widget as an application on the Adobe Air platform and run it on your PC, MAC or Linux box.

Here is one I made that's not so much a tiltsift as it just really fricken cool:

Took the boys down to the ocean at Point Dume to beat the freakish April heat wave, as the temps climbed into the upper 90s in Los Angeles proper, the ocean front was a cool 78 degrees.

I shot this on my way across town to see a film. I saw a pretty awesome sunset was coming so I grabbed my camera and started shooting.

The fellas from Alamo Drafthouse are on a west coast tour and stopped in to The New Beverly Cinema last night for a REDNECKSPLOITATION double feature. The film that left my jaw-a-gape-n was "Poor Pretty Eddie". Please watch this clip and you will have a taste of this sweet twisted film.

My friends the Dubners got a new puppy today, a chocolate brown, blue eyed Rottweiler named Robot.

Here he is in 210 fps slow motion video and I embellished the audio a smidgen. 

 

Playing around with the new Casio EX-FC100 camera, which offers some very cool video features on top of being a fine point and click camera. It can shoot at 210fps up to 1000fps which makes for some groovy slow motion action. It will also shoot 720p HD video...shweet!

Ahhhhhhhhh!

Walking into the local Costco is always "intresting" sometimes good, some times bad and sometimes WTF, today was the latter, as I stumbled across a fellow selling crappy oil paintings of which he was offering this:

I'm pretty sure that people have had nightmares of such a meeting, have spent thousands of dollars in therapy to rid themselves of this image in their mind.

I did this for my last cross country ario-plane trip and it worked very well, and wanted to share it with the intertubes.

I have written about the fine folks at Cinefamily here in my blog before and their unswerving devotion to film of all kinds. Last nights screening was hosted by Rick Prelinger of the Prelinger Archives and was  a collection of works from the Jam Handy Organization, and it's founder Henry Jamison Handy.

Handy, by many, is seen as the father of Multimedia, and of AV education. His organizations films have been seen by millions of people starting from the 1930s through to today. 

Last night the main event was a screening of two of his films that transcended instructional or promotional film and give a view of an America long past. The first was "Master Hands" projected in 35mm from a newly restored print. Selected for the 1999 National Film Registry of "artistically, culturally, and socially significant" films, it was truly fascinating to watch the production of a 1936 car from metal being melted down till the final inspection off the line. I have submitted part 1 of the film to the sift

And second, “American Look” from 1958 projected in 35mm Widescreen a promotional series from Chevrolet showing american design and it's infuence on Chevrolet's car lines. Kitchy, yet a great capture of 50's designs and the design aspect of car creation. I also submitted part 1 of this film to the sift.
