Windows 7 beta x64 (Blog Post)

I recently purchased 8 Gb ram, because it's just criminally cheap right now (yay, economic collapse pays off), and I had XP 32bit installed, so I've been forced to move to a 64 bit OS.

I've shunned Vista since I tried it last year, so what other reasonable options did I have? Luckily the new Windows 7 beta has just been released, so I tried that one, and so far I'm really, really pleased. It does a lot of small things better than XP and is still very responsive and quick.

Aero is much like it is in vista, but I think it seems more refined. I've yet to do more extensive research on it (ie. run World of Warcraft.. installing now), but so far, yeah, awesome.

Has anyone else tried it yet? What are your reactions?

Favorite PHP editor? (Blog Post)

I know there are a bunch of coders in our community, so I think I'll use this venue to get some insight. Which editor is your favorite for doing php?

I'm looking for a full IDE, because for just low-level stuff, I just use Notepad Plus.

I've been using Eclipse with a plugin called php-eclipse, I think, but I changed to Zend Studio a while back. I'm trying out NuSphere PhpED and Dreamweaver now, because we used dreamweaver in one of my classes, and it seems pretty neat.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

There are some things that are just unsiftable (Blog Post)

And NO, I'm not talking about what you all think I'm thinking about.

I'm talking about music that has never had music videos. I've sifted a few, and I've seen others around, but it's such a shame, because we miss many, many musical gems.

Here is for instance one of my favorite songs, which goes out to every girl I've ever liked and especially those who liked me back (and didn't mace me).

Captain's blog - Stardate January 17th.. point 2 (Blog Post)

We've entered the burning recesses of unknown web-space. Scholars call this the "Videosift blog section", but I know better. I know this is unlike any other region in this whole god-forsaken universe.

The Science officer reports that our preliminary probe, designated gwiz665, has returned to the ship fully functioning, so the only reasonable next step is to explore on in our charter class ship by the same name. Ugh, the leadership never were big on names.. the fools.

I expect no troubles on our mission of exploration, but there are dangerous entities in the region of space, so we must tread carefully.

The AI on our probe reports that it has bonded with several entities in this space, which we must persue further. The is an exciting time, but also a frightening one. I hope this is not the last you hear of us.

Captain out.
