From
http://www.myspace.com/sarahslean The Juno and Gemini nominated Sarah Slean embodies a music style all to her own and has garnered a devoted, global following over her 4 releases. Her critically acclaimed fourth album “Day One” (2004) was released in ten countries, spawned 2 hit radio singles in Canada (Lucky Me, Mary) and was her best selling album to date. Sarah resided in France for over six months in 2006 to tour and promote the release in Europe.
Orphan Music is both a live and studio recording that captures the beauty and essence of Sarah’s solo live experience; soaring vocals accompanied by grand piano and a string quartet. Performances were culled from live concerts recorded in December 2006 in Toronto (Harbourfront Theatre) and Vancouver (West End Cultural Centre) as well as stripped down studio recordings at DNA Studios in Toronto and Kensaltown Studios in London , UK. The UK recordings were produced by Martin Terefe (Ron Sexsmith, KT Tunstall).
