Just back from Comic Con 2008 at its usual home in San Diego. Charms and I went Saturday.

We started our day by standing at the train station eagerly awaiting our ride.


We hopped onto a fully packed, standing room only Amtrak near 8:30am. In this photo of us on the train you can see some people sitting on the stairs in the background, that's how full it was.


Once we finally landed in San Diego at 10am we took a trolley over to the convention center. (Yes, that says "VaroCMS" on my back. )


The place was unbelievably packed and extremely large. The only disappointing thing is we didn't get into any discussions or autograph signings. For any of the latter you had to wait in a 1 hour line 6 hours prior to the signing for a raffle ticket at the chance to wait in line for an hour to participate.

But we did walk past Elizabeth Banks from Mike and Mary Make a Porno, Olivia Munn from AOTS (who seems like an extremely mean person), Masi Oka (aka. Hiro Nakamura from Heroes), and Lou Farrigno (sp?). We also got some video and photos of both Kevin and Olivia at their signing (from a distance), Method Man, and some other people crowds were clamoring for but we didn't recognize. I'll post videos once I get them trimmed down and uploaded to YouTube.

We saw lots of people in funny costumes (which stunk something awful, btw) and some cool geek stuff too, but the main thing we were concerned with was the chance to spread the Sift to at least one more geek in the world. Of course not much chance my shirt was that persuasive.

All in all, we won't be back.
