MESHUGGAH - OPHIDIAN TREK

Soon to be on tour with Metallica. Metallica should open for these guys, very powerful live experience - plus fuck Metallica, they wish they were as fucking cool and innovative as Meshuggah (Meshuggah used to actually sound like Metallica in the early 90's until they found their own unique sound).

To needlessy elaborate - as a music appreciation artist (lol) - I have always looked for past music as well as new music that pushes boundaries. I have a lot of friends still into almost strictly underground music and they hate this band out of pure ignorance. They hear a nu-metal band, over-produced. I can understand this, but there is a lot more going on with this band. For one, I find it interesting that each individual in this band simply put to their own devices would never have created this sound, this genre that this band created. The guitar player plays free jazz, progressive fusion weirdness. Not metal at all. You can tell these guys created this sound together, they fucking smoked DMT together, drank the tea and fucking suffered beautifully and then bound the fucking serpents in MC Escher, minimalist inspired Amazon 1,000,000,000 year Alien Future tech magic smoke bound in Hell rage from the 5th dimension. And that my friends is how people create shit on God Mode level.
