From TV Repairman to Artist, One Man Makes Art Out of Parts

California Assemblage art was born out of the Beat Generation of artists and poets and was most prominent in the 1950s and '60s; the art form is a process in which a work of art is made from altered, found objects and collage. Bill Czappa came across California Assemblage through pure curiosity and fun. A TV repairman by trade and a sculptor by passion, the Burbank, California-based Czappa has been creating some of the most amusing artwork you'll ever see for more than 20 years. In this short film by Serena Creative with music by Emoto Music, Czappa shows us how he came to create some of his most iconic sculptures and the costs to keep his artwork in motion.
