Seriously, what crappy, crappy news. I'm certain the man had a comeback in him. Now we'll never know. He made so many classics -- Planes, Trains and Automobiles (my personal favourite), Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club... just look at his filmography. The man was pretty much untouchable in the '80s. What a crappy day for film fans.
