Is Obama A Keynesian?

Mostly though, I think you don't understand that economics is supposed to be a study of the origin and nature of wealth, and not some holy scripture, handed down through the generations intact and unchanged, that tells us what the structure of society must always be.
That's called religion.

This is why the Democrats will soon lose more than just elections. It's this elitist smugness. I do think fascism is coming to this country, and the tea party movement is just the beginning. You may think they're just racist hillbillies, but they'll wrap that flag so tightly around that cross you won't know just how quickly your entire belief system can be ripped out from under you.

If you Democrats were smart, and I know most of you are very smart, you'd start reasoning with them instead of belittling them. Even the playing field instead of desperately scoffing at them for being inarticulate warmongers. And so on. I'm not saying they're much better, but I do tend to see them listening more than your side.

When and if it comes, I wonder which side you'll be on?

Islam: A black hole of progress.

I'm sorry but these videos are pathetic. Ignoring everything no-really said in his comment (all true), they would still be sad. Even if these statistics pointed at some actual problem, the world would be better off without many things, so what? Even if he proved that by taking up Islam you immediately become retarded and contribute nothing to society, so what? So we should ban Islam? Or better yet, invade Islamic nations to liberate them from stupidity?
You can educate people, that's it, suggesting we can "do" anything more is borderline warmongering.

islam is a gutter 'religion' founded by a pedophile/gigolo/warlord.

It takes a liberal to oppose Christians while supporting islamofascists ready to cut off his head with a scimitar.

These are the views of a radial extremist if I've ever seen one. Now I just hope you don't walk the walk...

This one made me laugh tho:
>> ^quantumushroom:
Christianity evolved, islam has not.

Man you can't be that naive. Who managed to inject you with so much fear of Islam anyways? Two collapsing towers and you shit your pants as if Muslims (in general according to you) were a serious threat to the world. American warmongering and dumb fuck foreign policies (funding Bin Laden, hello) are far more dangerous than a couple of terrorists will ever be.

Suck it, corporatist.

I'm not the one who voted for the current pro-corporatist warmongering president. So, kindly suck it, too.

Right, because BP was totally psyched to hand 20 Billion dollars over to the government.

It's just like when the people of the gulf volunteered to have their fisheries destroyed.

I'll tell you about full of shit. Full of shit is a party that claims to be the party of peace, yet increases US hegemony and military spending. The Democrats should call themselves the party of wars and lies, but then they'd have to fight the Republicans for that title.
People like me, the Libertarians, are sick of paying for your two parties' wars.

Why do you think the Libertarian party is more likely to end the war than the Democratic party?

Do they have some sort of track record of honesty and commitment to principle that supersedes all other politicians?

Do they have a track record of being able to effectively enact policy at the national level?

Have they been tireless advocates against the war, and putting together PACs that spend money on anti-war ads throughout the years we've been at war?

Have their high-profile, influential voices in the media been using their megaphone to try to build a popular consensus for ending the war?

Or has everything they've ever said about the war been couched as an attack on the Democratic party, equating them to Republicans?

Just curious, because my two most frequent contacts have been you and Ron Paul, and it's all been some formation like "you Democrats would vote Libertarian if you really cared about the war, you warmongering hypocrites."

That's not commitment to ending the war, it's a commitment to use the topic of war as a wedge issue, Karl Rove style.

@kronosposeidon. I don't believe in compulsory vaccination, either. If there's a breakout, those who receive the vaccinations may live and those who choose not to may die, but if you've already been vaccinated won't that mean you're free and clear?

I don't know. It seems a bit silly. It's like you're saying, "A warmongering president is good and will receive my vote as long as he's for compulsory vaccinations, but a peaceful one is bad if he doesn't believe in compulsory vaccinations." It's really a flimsy premise.

Transcript:

If I oppose health care, I'm against the poor; if I oppose their ridiculous climate change bill, I hate the planet and I'm a flat-Earth, moon-landing denier; if I oppose illegal immigration, I'm anti-Hispanic; if I oppose the stimulus package, I'm against the president because he's black; if I oppose the massive deficit increasing exponentially by this administration, I loved it the previous eight years; if I support the troops, I'm a war-monger; if I attended a tea party, I'm crazy; if I favor traditional marriage, I'm a homophobe; if I oppose abortion, I'm against women; if I oppose the Fairness Doctrine, I hate diversity; if I oppose strong-arm unions, I'm against workers.

So, taking all of their arguments, one by one, and adding them all together, I guess it would be safe to assume that according to the inclusive, diverse progressives that I'm just a crazed, poor person-hating, flat-Earth believing, moon-walk denying, deficit-loving, homophobic, xenophobe, who is a homogenous, women-hating, racist, that loathes hard-working, blue-collar Americans.

Oh, did I mention I'm a warmongering, jingoistic fatso? That hates children? And puppies? And spits on trees? And shoots gerbils, just for sport?

And if I don't hate, I'm simply dangerous. A fearsome, mob-inciting, redneck, flesh-eating monstrous, rhetoric spewing, out-of-control religious zealot, bent on blowing something up, maybe even before the end of the show.

It's unfortunate you lash out everytime it's pointed out that the horrors of war can exist without the benefit of war as long as one side is too weak to put up a fight. Call me a war monger if you like, but that doesn't defend the countless atrocities that have occurred when your advise of non-intervention was followed.

blankfist said:Come join the dark side of peace, dear statist.

Our positions are much closer than you might think.

You understand the horrific cost of military intervention and war, and reject it. I was there for 20+ years. The next step is quite simply forcing yourself to look at the cost of non-intervention. The UN had several thousand troops on the ground in Rwanda to ensure a tenuous peace was kept. The policy of non-intervention saw them removed immediately in the face of violence and war, and 800,000 died as a result. I was being derisive in calling that 'peace', it is nothing of the sort, it is merely cowardice and selfishness.

You can try and claim innocence by blaming only those that did the killing, I can't so easily absolve those who turned a willful blind eye to such genocide. Similarly, I hate America far more for it's efforts to ignore and deny Saddam's genocide of the Kurd's than for the casaulties of their incompetent removal of him.
