Twilight for Guys - to gain the horny male demographic!
True blood is chock full of attractive people. Bill is the epitome of olde-times handsome, and i'm a guy but even i think eric is hot shit. The young ginger vampire is hot as all hell and holy cow but maryann did it for me. Never let it be said that the more mature lady can't outshine the youngsters.
Er, y'know... i meant about bill and eric in like a hetero way?

It would have been better if it had attractive girls, but it still wouldn't have been funny.
That's why we've got True Blood.
True Blood Season 3 Trailer
Upvoted without even watching, because True Blood is awesome but I want to remain as unspoiled as possible. Can't wait for the new season!

True Blood Season 3 Trailer
OMG, fangasm.
Btw:
"HBO has confirmed to True-Blood.net that production on a set of “minisodes” (3-5 minute episodes) is underway. These minisodes serve the joint purpose of promoting season 3 and filling in some of the blanks between seasons 2 and 3. They will feature various characters in short storylines, including Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) in a revealing nightclub scene. Look for them to debut on HBO soon."
I just saw the first three and they rocked.

If you aren't watching Modern Family... (Blog Entry by lucky760)
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
^true that. I guess I'm probably just not into situation comedies at all these days. I tried watching The Big Bang Theory, and while it was funny- I just couldn't get into the show either. Here's my TV list for 2009 in descending order of goodness:
1. Mad Men
2. True Blood
3. That Mitchell & Webb Look
4. The IT Crowd (was that in 2009?)
5. The Daily Show (as always)
5. Would I Like to You?
6. Glee (suck it haters)
7. Curb your Enthusiasm
Finally Finished BSG (Blog Entry by dag)
Well, yeah, of course she was brought back as an angel, but as a show that prided itself on keeping itself more realistic than other scifi, by using technology that was closer to our own and not completely, completely unfeasible it just makes no sense.
Everything that's wrong with religion if it were true out here suddenly applies in that universe, because ultimately in the show there is a god, and the god does have influences in the world, and can basically do anything, like create an extra kara thrace out of thin air, and poof her gone again.
It makes no goddamn sense!
The whole show had a nice ambiguity to its religious context and myths, which was good, but in the end all the bullshit myths - everything - was true! This carries a hell of a lot of repercussions to all the actions in the show and in the end it is just completely unsatisfying.
If they had not played with being closer to our own reality and introduced the supernatural elements more deeply intertwined in the story, then I'm sure I would have been more forgiving - like, say, Buffy the Vampire Slayer or True Blood for that sake, which handles its demons and gods and all that stuff fine within its own universe. BSG really, really wants to be our universe, which just makes it invalid, because it very clearly is not our universe. Its internal consistency is shot to hell and makes me want to punch a puppy in the face.
I rate it 10 sturgeon faces.
Craig Ferguson Really Hates Twilight
im a pretty big vampire fan. Anne Rice is kick ass...(interview with a vampire, vampire lestat, queen of the dammed) beautiful Gothic Romantic novels they are (romantic in the sense of the Romantic arts, not romance)
i like the true blood series, she was heavily inspired by anne rice, the vamps n the tv show of that are a bit lame, and get better in season two i think. id call true blood a "guilty pleasure"
as for twilight....im sorry but a book written by a Mormon psycho intended to keep teens practicing abstinence, with a typical story and crap characters is puke worthy.
Craig Ferguson Really Hates Twilight
Intreview with a Vampire had better characters then True Blood or twilight.
I watch True Blood. hated season 2 though.
Craig Ferguson Really Hates Twilight
All I am saying is:
-True Blood > Twilight
-Twilight < Shit
I like my vampires in lots of flavors, having played a lot of Vampire: The Masquerade in my day. (I know, I know, NERD.) I hate Twilight though. Twilight is a disgustingly successful capitalization on the feelings of worthlessness people have.

What Do We Watch Next? (Blog Entry by deputydog)
I don't have the attention span for any of these crappy suspense/drama series. It seems like from your review of the programs you have watched, you feel the same way. I've tried a multitude of them and none of them interest me for more than 2 episodes. I'd say True Blood has the best shot at being something I could watch. You're probably too cool for Entourage, but I thoroughly enjoy turning off my brain and watching that show. Also, Californication is titillating to say the least. They are both very adult shows though, so if you or your wife are prudish in any sense, you might want to skip both.
