Stop The North American Union Documentary

choggie says...

Considering the rollicking up-vote history on this subject when posted (sarcasm), and the overall clientele's sensibilities here on the sift (head in own ass, do-nothing, liberalista putties who welcome ass-rape), why oh why Constitutional_Patriot do we even bother???.....they are buying this shit , hook, line sinker-styley, look how the sheeple fawn over Obama???
Listen to the continual laboring over non-issues like human rights abuses in Somefuckistan, or how health care and cradle-to-grave gimmies, will make all bad good, and worse better.....moreover, with each passing second, the same become more virulent in their disgust with morality, conservative sensibilities and injustice in the rest of the world, while all the while driven closer to slavery by the very shit they are told to think is of dire importance..... The globe is warming, but through the smokescreen, it's anyone's guess as to how or why-

Because critical thinking, is for losers-and newsspeak has always been an effective tool of control-

Most of the folks here could give a fuck about America, as long as their power is on, the last legal drug is flowing, and the internets are speedy.....

and while i'm at, "Fuck Anonymous, too"...if they really wanted to put an end to the twisted bile duct of a fucking mini system of control, they'd burn the fucking Scientology buildings to the ground....masks off!!!

The minute a Scientologist starts to run their bullshit down, you should audit their nose with a glancing blow, enough to break it and start the blood flowing....that, will give them a lifetime of reflection, meditation, and a bit of immediate awareness-They can say "I'll sue you" while bleeding some harmless nose-red syrup

Thunderclap Newman - Something In The Air

schmawy says...

I was curious, so I went for a walk in Wikipedia:

"In 1969, Pete Townshend, The Who's guitarist, created the band to play songs written by the former Who roadie, drummer / singer John 'Speedy' Keen (miscredited as "Keene" on the single's label). Keen wrote the opening track on The Who Sell Out album, "Armenia City In The Sky". Townshend produced the single, arranged its strings, played its bass guitar under the pseudonym Bijou Drains, and hired for it eccentric GPO engineer and jazz pianist Andy 'Thunderclap' Newman (born Andrew Newman, in 1943) and the fifteen year old Glaswegian Jimmy McCulloch.

Originally titled "Revolution", but later renamed because the Beatles released a single of that name, "Something in the Air" captured post-flower power rebellion, marrying McCulloch's sweeping acoustic and glowing electric guitars, Keen's powerful drumming and yearning falsetto, and Newman's felicitous piano solo.

The single was Number One for three weeks, holding off Elvis Presley in the process. The scale of the song's success surprised everyone, and there were no plans to promote Thunderclap Newman with live performances.

Eventually a line-up, augmented by Jim Pitman-Avory (bassist) and McCulloch's elder brother Jack (drums), played a handful of gigs. Personal records say the band played live only five times, although Keen referred to a two-month tour, playing "everywhere".

"Something in the Air" appeared on the soundtracks of the films The Magic Christian (1969), Almost Famous (2000), The Dish (2000), The Girl Next Door (2004), and The Strawberry Statement (1970); the last having helped the single reach No. 25 in the United States. The song also appeared in the deluxe edition of the Easy Rider CD. In the UK, a follow-up single, "Accidents", came out only in May 1970, and charted at No. 44 only for a week, and an album Hollywood Dream, peaked in Billboard at No. 163. "Something In the Air" played at the end of the 26 March 2007 episode of The Riches on FX. An episode of the television sitcom, My Name is Earl also featured the song.

The members of the band had little in common. Newman once commented, in a 1972 interview with New Musical Express, that he got on with Keen's music but not with him personally, it was a similar case with McCulloch. Two more singles followed before the band split."

An Electron Filmed for the First Time

8727 says...

from youtube:

An electron rides on a light wave after just having been pulled away from an atom. Credit: Lund University
Scientists have filmed an electron in motion for the first time, using a new technique that will allow researchers to study the tiny particle's movements directly.

Previously it was impossible to photograph electrons because of their extreme speediness, so scientists had to rely on more indirect methods. These methods could only measure the effect of an electron's movement, whereas the new technique can capture the entire event.

Extremely short flashes of light are necessary to capture an electron in motion. A technology developed within the last few years can generate short pulses of intense laser light, called attosecond pulses, to get the job done.

"It takes about 150 attoseconds for an electron to circle the nucleus of an atom. An attosecond is 10-18 seconds long, or, expressed in another way: an attosecond is related to a second as a second is related to the age of the universe," said Johan Mauritsson of Lund University in Sweden.

Using another laser, scientists can guide the motion of the electron to capture a collision between an electron and an atom on film.

The length of the film Mauritsson and his colleagues made corresponds to a single oscillation of a wave of light . The speed of the event has been slowed down for human eyes. The results are detailed in the latest issue of the journal Physical Review Letters.'

i'm still confused at what i'm looking at. are the bands the shell of an atom? or is that what an electron looks like traveling around something? or is the whole thing the waves of an electron??

What's That Smell? It's a MINK Roast! (Parody Talk Post)

dotdude says...

MINK has been a sifter for less than a year, yet he ranks 17th in human comments. He averages almost eight comments a-day. We are truly blessed with his prolific words of wit, wisdom and whatever else he manages to leave behind.

He mustn’t be too bored or he would have posted more than thrice during this roast.

As with any online persona, we are entirely dependent on what a poster seems to share with us. MINK is not shy when it comes to expressing himself.

He has great affection for the word “retarded” in his ubiquitous critiques of videos and comments. It might be time that we provide him with a synonym dictionary before the word is exhausted from such a workout.

His vigilance as a grammar nanny stands in stark contrast to his affinity for creative spelling of expressive words.

MINK referred to some of our sifters as hippy-dippy, yet he is the one who frequently tosses the word “love” around, preaches the virtue of being a vegetarian and admits to sporting long girly hair.

If any sifter is uncertain about the worth of a video, he will gladly analyze it with his “crap-o-meter” and render a speedy verdict. All you need do is ask.

So, if MINK drinks a beer alone in the woods, does his spinning record make a sound?

Well I guess I’ve provided an additional specimen to this little demonstration of arcs of urine. Soon MINK will be returning to provide his response. Some sifters may wish to seek shelter.

I guess this is what is meant by a slow-roast . . .
