The Largest Street Gang in America

blankfist says...

An important fact. The Internal Affairs Group (IAG) is run by the Police Commission which is run by the Chief of Police (CEO) with a Board of Police Commissioners appointed by the mayor that act similar to a corporate board of directors. I shit you not, that's how they explain it: CEO and board of directors.

The IAG, which serves to investigate police misconduct is not only run by the same people who control the police, but it's also made up of members of the police force.

After Rodney King and the Rampart Scandal here in LA, a private, independent study was conducted on the mores and culture of the Los Angeles Police Department, which is commonly referred to as the Christopher Commission Report. I've read the entire document years ago. It's quite damning and worth a thorough read though it's incredibly difficult to locate online.

The Human Rights Watch Organization has "Shielded from Justice: Police Brutality and Accountability in the United States" posted on their site with excerpts from the Christopher Commission Report. It's worth the read, especially these sections:

Internal Affairs Unit
Code of Silence
Disciplinary Actions
Investigations into Shootings
"Problem" Officers

Mum Tasered In Front Of Kids, Arrested. Kids Left In Vehicle

>> ^NetRunner:

Officers are put on administrative leave and an investigation is launched by the very cops that work the force. Don't for a second believe Internal Affairs Division isn't run by the same people who work the force, because it is. Those investigating the police are also police officers. Read the independent Christopher Commission report on the LAPD after Rodney King and the Rampart incident...

It is alarming, therefore, that no outside review, including our own, has found the operations of internal affairs divisions in any of the major U.S. cities satisfactory. cited

internal investigators conducted group interviews of the police involved. As the Christopher Commission noted, this allowed officers under investigation to "get their stories straight." cited

Internal Affairs divisions are often reluctant to push for criminal prosecution of fellow police personnel... cited

So, I think this sort of behavior, although probably frowned upon by the department, won't be treated with sufficient punishment (i.e., expulsion, jail time).

Cops Kill Mentally Challenged Teen Using "Non-Lethal" Force

kronosposeidon says...

Chilaxe, are you saying that every day every single citizen in China
experiences repression from their government, and if some of them
manage to go a few days every week without feeling the government's
jackboot on their necks then they don't live in a police state?
Actual repressive acts don't have to happen every day in order to feel
repressed; it's the ever-present FEAR that attends your daily life
that causes repression more than anything else.

I can tell you right now that I'm outright scared of cops in this
country, because they have the right to assault you to death with
their tasers or other weapons, almost always without repercussions.
The exceptions to this rule are generally the ones where video
evidence was available to prove police assault, but even then it's not
a slam dunk. Just ask Rodney King.

Just because we don't have men in SS uniforms patrolling the streets
with sub-machine guns doesn't mean we don't have a police state. And
yes, I already said we still have freedom of speech. So right now
we're still free to speak about police brutality until we're blue in
the face, while another Robert Mitchell gets killed by taser-happy
pigs. Yes, we're totally free, aren't we?

BART Police shooting in Oakland -- KTVU Report

Trancecoach says...

Here's the Washington Post's coverage of the incident (and the youtube reverberations).

Oh, and by the way.. Here's ANOTHER shooting, which took place in Texas last week.

Could this be an Obama backlash? Racial tensions coming out on the police force? If this keeps up, people are going to beg for the nightstick like Rodney King got. At least King survived!

In the future, suspects are gonna say, "Just tase me, bro!"

Cops Punch and Kick Suspect Laying on the Ground

CaptainPlanet420 says...

Hit the crap out of him if he's resisting arrest in a dangerous manner, but once that hand goes behind the back, prolly better stop the hitting and start the cuffing...at least while yer on camera.

And ftr, I'm not agreeing with the Orly? kid up there...but I spoke at length with a California policeman who unequivocally stated that Rodney King was the most important issue (of 90's) and changed law enforcement forever. As a policeman you lost many rights you once had to control berserk criminals.

Casual - That's How It Is

MrFisk says...

Yo!
Get the fuck off my dick and let me rip this shit!

I write raps,
And when niggaz bite, I clap,
'Cos their shit sounds better now.
You done let me down,
I thought it would be dope, but instead,
Your shit's dead,
You gets fed
To the alligators lurking in the moat,
Peep what I wrote,
You bit so hard, I though your shit was a quote.
But still I'm taxing, axing the competition,
And any wack men, I stomp & dis 'em
Easily.
And you can feel the pressure, plus
When I bust MCs'll be
Trampling eachother trying to exit,
When I flex it,
The way I wreck shit is not unexpected.
Niggaz just lose when I choose
The best crews of MCs,
And turn 'em into refugees.
I slaughter a lotta MCs that are the
?Styles I compiles?, and cut 'em up like ?vows?.
Think to yourself I write the shit
So you can bite the shit,
And I'll know, despite you get props.
[To da beat!]
Niggaz get dropped.

Sample: That's how it was and that's how it is!

Enough with this wackness,
Enough is my ?check?,
Enough with these motherfuckers biting DAS EFX.
I come real when I show skill,
(Hey, yo, Saafir!) You macked on that ho ill,
And that's for real, my flow still
Is everlasting, niggaz forever blasting
Shots when cash gets hot.
You're not fresh, so you hating when I be just
Ripping microphones without stating the obvious.
Now how much harder can it get?
Niggaz try to flow, but they soundin' like me
A year ago.
Shit, old, kaput, I got loot,
To the hos I'm cute, and so I always got boots.
It's me, so be free to feel the ?Ivy swing?,
More niggaz got my back than Rodney King.
I feel tight, knowing that the shit I write
Will be exposed to foes, and everyone will feel fright.
And you'll run and tell your man, "Yo, peep this twist,
It's real, try to practise." But the mack is
Way ahead of ya, instead of ya wack sound,
I'm kickin' shit to make MCs back down.
Got rhymes that kills, fills many empty heads,
Niggaz can be dead, I got 'em in line, like ?Stimpy?.
Red light, slow that shit down, bring it to a halt.
You're wack and it's all your fault

Cop Attacked at the RNC! Civil Disobedience Prevails!

volumptuous says...

>> ^MarineGunrock:
^You've seen enough brutality because that's all that people want to share.

Nah, I like the police generally. My brother was a police officer for 25 years. I was on the road with him many, many times. I saw how he treated people first hand, and he never had a chip on his shoulder, and never fucked with people who didn't seriously deserve it.

My brother also was anti-tazer. Thought it was brutal, and would be misused by aggro cops, which we have seen time and time again.

But, this has nothing to do with what kind of shit is being pulled on people, every day, all over the country. But, for the first time in my life, it's being directed toward white kids, which hasn't happened since the viet nam era.

Through the 80's and 90's, cops did this shit to blacks and mexicans, who had no means of making this abuse public. Not until Rodney King.

Code Pink protester Hit with Baton: BOOM HEADSHOT!

quantumushroom says...

Code Pink is a communist front, founded by a communist. While that alone doesn't warrant a beating (altho being in favor of an -ism that has slaughtered 100 million people and counting worldwide should be "frowned upon") these doofs are sh;t-disturbers.

This is just street theater for them, when they left for this protest they knew exactly what they're going to do provoke confrontations (later edited only by their own people, very bolshevik) seeking footage like this, trying to duplicate the Rodney King video or Don't-tase-me-bro asswipe.

YOU HAVE BEEN MANIPULATED by master propagandists.

Someone let me know when this goes to court and ALL the facts come out. If a jury finds the cop guilty, I'll be the first to apologize, but never for berating Code Pink's underlying foul, murderous ideology.

Roast IX: Who the f**k is this guy? (Parody Talk Post)

thinker247 says...

Children, children. Can't we all just get along? Like Rodney King and the business end of four police nightsticks? Or as MG calls it, "an orgy."

I apologized for offending OF and KKL, but I didn't apologize for the joke itself. It was meant to be a joke and they didn't see it that way. So I apologized for their reaction, not my intent. My intent was harmless, even if the beginning of my joke really was shocking. I thought that was the point, so I added it. I think it was funny, only because I've never met these people, so it's not like I'm telling my best friend that I want to fuck his girlfriend, when she's standing right next to me. That would just be wrong. Especially because my friends are fat video game addicts who have no girlfriends.

So I stand by my apology to OF and KKL, but I also stand by the intent of my joke. I understand their reaction, but I respectfully disagree with them.

On that note, let's all kiss and make up. Or as blankfist calls it, "the family reunion."

Forward with the roast, motherfuckers!

Wait for it... Wait for it... WHOA!
