this is my favorite part of my halloween...my daughter and I, carving the only pumpkin left in town when I bought it (the day before Halloween).

I'm not one of those Bond purists that think Connery is the only Bond, although he is the best. And, I think I exist in the minority of most film snobs because I think George Lazenby was a terribly Bond and OHMSS was one of the worst Bond flicks. Not the worst. No, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton probably served up the worst of Bond. The new Bond is great.

Sarzy: "desperate attempt to contemporize Bond". Of course it is. Did you not think the Roger Moore Bonds were trying to do the same? Moonraker? Come on. That crap was nothing but 80s garbage and we loved it. When's the last time you've seen a Bond drive an Aston Martin DB5?

James Bond: Quantum Of Solace game trailer

shuac says...

The game looks very nice but give me a mouse & keyboard for any shooter.

As far as the movies go, Daniel Craig makes a very satisfying Bond, indeed. I like Sean Connery too and I feel I have the intellectual capacity to NOT rank them as though my brain was an index of fucking top ten lists.

OK, fine then? Very good, very good.

Hey, I used to think no one could top Connery as well, but then Daniel Craig came along and stole my heart. I like the grittiness of the new Bond. And even though the humor was fine 40 years ago, the pithy wise cracks just don't age well, IMHO.

Better than Sean Connery?? Sacrilege! He's not even James Bond, as far as I'm concerned -- he's James Bourne, or at least that's what he's trying to be. Far too humourless and gritty.

Sci-Fi Film Reccomendations (Cinema Talk Post)

firefly says...

Outland (another Sean Connery one)
The Wraith
Freejack
The Lawnmower Man (there’s a sequel, but I haven’t seen it)
Cube, Cube 2, or Cube Zero
Mission to Mars
Fantastic Voyage (classic!)

And if you want to see the most ridiculed, according to Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics (click "Movie Reviews" on the left), watch The Core.
You can probably find some other sci-fi titles there to enjoy also.

p.s. another vote for Time After Time, also a growing-up favorite of mine. When I see/hear Jack the Ripper I always think David Warner.

Just thought I would let you know that the last comments of yours I read were on the thread concerning the "ignore" feature....and I won't be ignoring your comments, FYI. Seemed that whole notion got you pretty upset, but please remember that people have their own "ignore" features already which consist of bothersome scrolling past comments they don't want to read. People who ignore you (or anyone else for that matter) simply aren't ready to read what you have to say and wouldn't have understood it anyway...unless they were meant to read it, in which case they will read it. Make sense? Prolly not. I thought you would like this one anyway:

Barbra Walters interviews Sean Connery on smackin' b*tches.

dgandhi says...

I have been slapped by women for being ornery in the manner which Connery thinks justifies a slap, nobody came to my defense.

I have had female friends who could kick my ass, and male friends who could not, how do genitals effect the appropriateness of the use of physical force to settle disputes?

There is a point at which using "I'm female (read weak) so you can't hit me" can be used as a tool for emotional abuse. The possibility of physical altercation does serve to keep many conflicts civil, claiming immunity is pretty damn annoying, anybody who does it should be prepared if their bluff is called.
