Porn Bumper: Public Beta Test

If anyone is interested (and a legal adult) Porn Bumper could use a bit of help with some opinions and beta testing. Your insight and instincts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

To clarify, this project is not affiliated in any way with Sift Partners Inc., VideoSift, or The Great Dagicus. This is an independent project that happens to be affiliated with me, myself, and I alone, so the only mention you'll see of it on VideoSift is here in my personal blog.

Hey, I was participating in the alpha test, it has nothing to do with my filthy, filthy habits.

In all honesty, I had hoped that the accounts were cleared by the end of the alpha, so I could use a more prominent porn account like "thepinky".

Well, this new site is for the stuff that fails the test. The quantity of material appearing on the site however is expected to decline annually now that dag is turning 40. It is projected that eventually the test will completely fail, and it will be impossible to post new videos.

Wait... what?! What?! What are we doing now? I can't check this site from work! But I can... check it from home... and then... check myself... to make sure... you know... I'm... ok... you know... down there... you know.

Lucky,

I checked it out after I got home from work. Its a familiar simple design, and it works.

However, I have a feeling that you're not going to be able to build a community out of this. Case in point, check out Gawker. They have a TON of different sites for different interests. They even have one for the dirty stuff called Fleshbot. Now, compare comments and discussion from a site like io9 or Kotaku (sci fi and video games respectively) and you will see there are pages and pages of discussion for every article posted. Now, go to fleshbot. Find a post that has a comment. Why? My understanding is that people want to view their dirty-bits, do their business, and go on with their lives. They don't want to talk to other people about how good it felt. The only dirty sites I have seen that have an active community usually delve deep into the horrible/raunchy/disgusting video stuff.

However, this site does have the potential to make a shit-ton of money. If you have sponsored videos and links. Unless you want it completely community driven.

My 2 cents.

Thanks for the insight. I wonder about the whole commenting thing and figure it will be ignored for the most part, but in my research I discovered that a lot of people seem to post a lot of comments on some adult sites. Though they are usually simple, one sentence comments proclaiming their gratitude and how great the video is.

As long as I'm doing my small part (not that part you sicko) to make the world a place more full of good feelings, I'll be satisfied (not satisfied like that pervert).
