Why would refurbished Macs even exist? I thought Prometheus stole the Mac from Zeus and gave it to us mortals. Who could possibly return this perfect gift to mankind for ANY reason? Crazy talk.

It was all fun and games until prometheus was chained to a rock to have his liver eaten daily by Bill Gates for eternity.

You know ... as much as Windows people talk of being shouted down by "Mac Zealots" I can't help but think that it's really the Windows people who have a chip on their shoulder.
That sounds like a pretty nice setup BF.
^HA! That's a good one! You're right: There's no such thing as a Mac snob. It's always the PC guys with their noses in the air. (For the record, I have a dual-boot Windows/Linux setup on my laptop. Because I'm bi-curious.)

^Just remember that we are the persecuted minority here. Maybe you'd like us to wear little Apple badges so you can easily identify us.
^I like your final solution.

Snow Leopard is supposed to be a refinement of Leopard that takes better take advantage of the Intel chip. The system is only available for Mac Intel chip machines - a change from the last two systems offered. So Mac Users who want to use the new system will be forced to get a Mac with Intel chip.
When new systems come out, my Mac Users Group usually advises users to wait for the bugs to be worked out before upgrading. I'll wait until those in the know say "ok, upgrade."
In '05 I purchased a white iBook G4 while I was evacuated in Memphis. Once back home in the New Orleans area, a friend, who used to repair Macs, told me that he had a lot of clients fry their iBook G4 hard drives. He says the laptop only has one fan, whereas the metal laptops have two fans. Anyway, I have yet to fry my iBook. The main problem now is that it runs slow.
Number of total noobs who have asked me "why don't you use Mac?" since the last time we had a thread like this: 2.
Yeah, how can they refurbish something that never fails?
"Snow Leopard"? Wow...what's next, Rock Hyrax?

My 'chip' is Apple's advertising.
If they didn't advertise their products as the fricken second coming of christ and infallible and bloody perfect, no one would have an issue.
But they do, and they aren't.
So we bitch.
Plus we can't afford Macs.
