newtboyPoor baby. How dare they pay her for doing nothing.
ChaosEngineArrgh, conflicted.
On one hand, she's the worst. Everything wrong with right wing media neatly tied up in the only kind of pretty blond package that women are allowed to be on these things.
On the other (and I can't believe I'm about to say this), it's a pretty shitty way to treat an employee. If they don't want her anymore, they should release her from her contract.
If the same thing happened to a good journalist, we'd all be annoyed about it.
But, on the other other hand, a) she's an idiot for signing the contract and b) again she's the WORST, so I can't really bring myself to care.
this article sums up my feelings nicely (written about Bin Laden, but still applies)
CrushBugWeird. I have never heard of either of them.
Fairbssays...neither have I, but I find both of them annoying; is the dude the Lefts answer to the alt-right movement? I don't think I'm 'cool' enough for any of this
Weird. I have never heard of either of them.
Drachen_Jagersays...Funny how the taunts right-wingers use to describe lefties (such as 'snowflake') are actually far more true of themselves.
They value 'manliness', toughness, and martial abilities above all else, but it seems like every one of them found some way to avoid serving in the military (though Ted Nugent literally shitting his pants is still the best example of that particular cowardice).
When it comes down to it, they're all a bunch of lying, cowardly, sissy men, and sometimes I wish Barack Obama would step into the ring with Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, or Donald (or hell, I'd do it if given a chance, but nobody knows who I am, so that's not very likely).
Jinxsays...How common are contracts like this? And is it really that stupid to sign? I think I'd probably sign it if it was a job I wanted... but then I'd also shut up and take the pay until the contract was up. There are much worse things happening to much better people

ChaosEngineWhether or not worse things are happening to better people is a non-argument. No matter what happens to anyone, something worse is always happening to someone better.
I have no idea how common they are, especially in the US.
As to the stupidity of signing the contract, I dunno. Her major problem is that she's only valuable while people are listening to her. If she goes away for 6 months, she'll probably find that no-one is interested in hiring her then.

ToastyBuffoonsays...I have a hard time getting past all the shit this guy has on his wrists. Am I shallow?
Jinxsays...Tell ya what, I'll boycott The Blaze.
Who, other than The Blaze, was interested in hiring her before? If, as you noted earlier, this was happening to a respected journalist would we be worried about whether they'd still have an audience at the end of it?
I mean, I get that you're trying to be even-handed and fair and wotnot and ye, worse things will always happen to better people...but i mean... Karma tho? I got in the shower this morning and then remembered I had no shampoo. WEEP FOR ME. Let it not be said that I should take my plight in context!

harlequinnIt would be funny if it were true.
Snowflake has a nice history to it, this article sums it up nicely. The meaning in the last few years has been fairly consistent. Only recently have I seen it applied in new situations where it doesn't contextually make sense.

Right wingers in the USA serve in the military at much higher rate than left wingers (go look it up).
You keep referring to "they". "They" only exist in your imagination. You're stereotyping.
Have you ever been in a fight? Internet claims of fighting skills without video evidence (or similar) are pretty much bullshit (I'm not suggesting you made a claim to a skill level - but you are making a claim to step up to a fight). My suggestion is you should stay well out of the ring - most people vastly overestimate their fighting skills.

ChaosEngineFair enough. As I said, she's pretty awful, so I'm not gonna lose much sleep over it.
@ToastyBuffoon, I had the same reaction. It was really distracting.

Briguy1960harlequinn I think jager was referring to the conservative mouthpieces and not the soldiers.
Many a soldier has had their politics change once they do serve
as well...
