music: "i can't keep from crying sometimes", by the deidre wilson tabac. the music was added later ("synchronized/rescored" by someone on youtube). in the original, the sound changes when the camera goes underwater.

"i am cuba" was a cuban/soviet production finally released by martin scorcese in 1995.

this shot was copied carefully by paul thomas anderson in the pool party scene in "boogie nights".

Hey, this popped into my head yesterday because of the Simpson's submission, but I think this would be called a "hand held" rather than a "tracking" or "dolly shot" as there aren't tracks used for the shot. Wiki says the old tracking shots have been replaced by the steady cam. Any film school grads want to weigh in? This is awesome, by the way. Thanks for posting.

The "Hotel Rooftop to Pool" is the opening shot of the movie. The one we see here is the funeral of the revolutionary student, which is happening way later, around 3/4th into the movie. So the 'fix' apparently linked to a different sequence than the original one.
