articiansays...Wow! I could upvote this a million times. They did such an amazing job! That really breathes new life into that show. I particularly like the exterior planetary shots. Even when I was a kid I hated the sets they used on the show. They felt so claustrophobic to me, and you could spot that styrofoam prop material they used everywhere immediately.
This is really cool.

Oh, it's still awesome. I guess it WAS technically two dudes, by the way...
Under the direction of Star Trek producer David Rossi and long-time Star Trek technical consultant Mike Okuda, the visual and special effects were recreated to give Star Trek: The Original Series a more authentic feel and modern look. Special attention was given to such elements as the Enterprise, alien planets and their images depicted from space, planets seen from orbit, alien spacecraft, and technology such as computer readouts, viewscreen images, phaser beams, etc.
vaire2ubesays...great job on the giant space penis
Sylvester_Inksays...Yeah, Paramount did an excellent job. See, George Lucas? THIS is how you remaster a series. By touching things up, but staying faithful to the original.
But I'm really excited to see how TNG turns out. The originals look particularly bad since all the editing was done on VHS for faster turn-around. For the remastered version, they're reediting the show from scratch, so it should be a big improvement.
