This seems like such a dumb move, why is he even testifying? He's being poorly counseled. Isn't expressing regret going to undermine his self-defense defense? He said he's sorry and the interviewer is grilling him about it, so why say it?

The interviewer started the question by saying, "after you committed this crime...", and he didn't correct him. Can his answer be used as a confession?
