bareboards2says...*quality *promote
Grandma is clearly very kind, also. Thanks for posting this, Eric. It is lovely, just around lovely.
siftbotsays...Promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 5:13pm PST - promote requested by bareboards2.
Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by bareboards2.
ledpupsays...It's just swapping one expectation of female beauty with another. At least the glitzy ones are out having fun while the tree-changers worry about whether their coffee is organic enough.
bobknight33says...Hope your just kidding. This is wonderful. Kids ( my daughter) are only left with slutty over makes up type dolls. it sends a negative expectation on how a girl should be dressed.

RFlaggsays...I seem to recall seeing another video on how kids (inclusive of little girls) given the choice between a Barbie and more realistically proportioned and made up doll, prefer the more realistic one.
Asmosays...Jeebus, I think BK33's back on his meds, that's the second post in the last week where he's reasonable and I agree with him entirely... \= |
siftbotsays...Second Graders React to Lammily Doll (realistic proportions) has been added as a related post - related requested by Zawash on that post.
Sagemindsays...So, these bratts and monster's High dolls have sparked a huge re-mod following. so much so that the doll makers are even selling unpainted parts.
This isn't an original concept. I personalty know of several people that do this, it's become a hobby industry.

CelebrateApathysays...As a 30 something male I can't say I've had much experience with dolls, so when I first saw the thumbnail for this video I was angry that someone would take a perfectly nice looking doll and make it look like that. Of course, I had no idea that the one on the left was the original and frankly can't fathom subjecting children to such a product.
xxovercastxxsays...There's a guy on DA named Noel Cruz who repaints dolls and action figures to make them look more like the real person (the actor or actress) they represent. It's not quite as charming as all this, but it's really impressive work.

MilkmanDansays...Good on her for not wanting to become a manufacturer, etc. But in my opinion, the best response to this 15 minutes of fame / "going viral" would be to make a guide for other parents on her procedures, what paints etc. they need, and so on. Do it as a step by step with pictures, or make a YouTube video howto.
RFlaggsays...And that was the video I was referring to. Thank you.
