Why so many people dislike the police

This is one of a hundred videos showing a police officer being unnecessarily aggressive towards the people he is suppose to serve and protect.

I'm with Sketch. People can do whatever they want and the police still need to be polite? Yeah, that sounds really fair. The skater was warned.

Once I got a ticket for running a red light on bicycle. $285 later, I never ran a red light again... and I bet that skater won't skate near a federal building again.

upvote for the little insect on the camera lens at -1:57!

Bill: what makes you think the policeman was a punk when he was still a kid?

Sketch&Ross: the cop was "in the wrong" because of hs "unnecessarily aggressive attitude" just like the comment for the video says. it's not about the warning, it's about the vocabulary.

and another thing - I live in Europe so I was wondering - is it actually forbidden now to carry a skateboard near a federal building in the US? I'm a little bit confused.

Bill,

Perhaps you'd rather have the "punk" kids pulling B&Es for fun instead of skateboarding?

Sketch,

How did the kids disobey the warning? Looks like they were leaving and happened to (continue) walking in the direction of the courthouse. I didn't see anything...did you?

People better get wise to the fact that these bastards can get away with anything they want to. They will provoke you until you screw up or just flat out lie about you.

Nice language too.

Here is a case where a different approach to these kids could have resulted in no issues and not breed hate and distrust to "law officers".

I don't see what cooking Bacon & Eggs has to do with violently breaking the law, but I guess the punks could stand to learn how to cook, if it keeps them "off da streets"...

Well, from what the cop clearly said, they had continued to skate around AFTER the warning and were caught on the building's many surveillance cameras. Of course, that part is edited out of the skater's crappy homemade fish-eye lens YouTube posting. Oh no, those skaters are totally innocent for sure!

It's not like I'm against skateboarders or anything. I think skateboard restrictions ARE ridiculous in most areas, but at the same time, most of these kids think they are so clever and above the rules that everyone has to play by. If the law is f'ed up, then work to change the law. Don't prove that the law is right by being a dick.

Bill,

I beleive you are as dumb as you act. Otherwise, you'd say something that makes sense and try to prove everyone else wrong.

Sketch,

There is no proof that the kids continued skating. I didn't hear anything from that asshole cop that they did. The reference to the camera had to do with his gestapo bullshit about being at war.

Whether the kid laughed because of a nervous reaction to this ass or he thought the whole incident was rediculous is unknown.

Sketchsays...

Well, Rotty, I'm going based off of "Homeboy tried to tell you". And the whole indicating to the camera like they had been caught again. Of course, they weren't doing it just then because the cop was driving up, but it seems to me like they had continued on after the warning. Of course, it's a presumption, since they've edited out the time from the warning to the arrest.

I'm not saying cops don't do stupid shit, and that the comment about the war was idiotic, but I seriously doubt that they are in the wrong here. And everyone jumps down their throats for every YouTube video that's edited to make them look like they are. It's tired. You try having a job where every stop could potentially lead to you getting shot, or as Sidepipe said on the Sift back at http://www.videosift.com/video/Wow-thats-fubared, geting a "front truck up the side of his head."

I agree it looks likr they got busted again, but in all honesty, why the hell do they need to manhandle the kids? I'm not saying have kids gloves, just if they are being smart ass whats pulling on his rucksack and sticking his hands in the kids pockets all about?

Thats not good. they were skateboarding, not driving on the pavement...jesus, oh yeah *NSFW ironically becasue the cop had a potty mouth.

Not saying the cop is wrong to pull em up if they got busted skating again...but mayhaps dont be an asshole...they are loads of cops out there who would have been cool with them, the first time they got pulled up, the cops were needlessly aggressive...

just saying...

cops were wrong becasue they gave warning, but you dont manhandle your own citizens like that...
