Why You Shouldn't Make Fun of Nerds... (Hilarious!)

I agree with James. Perhaps this should start a dialog about how we define "cute" here on the Sift because it seems quite obvious that this video just doesn't fit. Does anyone (besides bnsa) disagree?

On some of the sites I’ve uploaded videos there are choices to submit categories. Someone reviews each video and decides the official category listings. Perhaps a moderator will be needed to have final say?

I can see us running into regular debates on this issue if we don’t have some agreed on way of handling these new channels.

As for this video, I don’t think this is what folks had in mind when the “cute” label was suggested. By the same taken, I do believe the ad handles the plot playfully. I guess I’m torn.

Nice siftquisition. You call this cute?! (lowers the thumbscrews on BNSA)

I think we need to provide some guidance in the posting guidelines for each channel. Anyone care to have a go at writing a succinct summary of what's right for each channel?

Wow... Put down the torches and the pick forks! Sheesh... I put cute because *I* thought the women were cute. These new tags are new to me, I didn't know, but I know now. Cute = animals and babies. Shame on you for sacraficing one of your own to the Volcano! LOL!

To Quote South Park: Rabble Rabble Rabble Rabble Rabble! :-P

(How is James able to Vote Both Up & Down on the same video? I call Shenanigans!!!)

James Roesays...

I didn't, I voted for it, and favorited it so that i would get emails when there were new comments ;-) I pulled your blog command. No hard feelings about that I hope. And yeah it was wrong of us to throw you to the fire, but we had to throw someone and you were the first one up ;-)

Just look at it this way: you set the precedent. You were the very first for all who will come behind you. You're the George Washington of assigning channels.

(removing from 'geek' channel, btw; notice how the FAQ specifically uses an example of a video containing a geek, but not really being a geek-centric clip? That's no coincidence my path-beating friend.)

Rabble Rabble Rabble! (Translated: I agree to disagree respectfully)

DAG WROTE: Anyone care to have a go at writing a succinct summary of what's right for each channel?

I claim the GEEK tag definition! (Lucky can have the CUTE)

The guy in there IS a geek/nerd and represents anyone who is a GEEK or NERD or likes the things GEEKS and NERDS like (I.e. Science, Star Trek, etc.) What he does is also something GEEKS and NERDS can benefit from (Should they ever find themselves in that predicament) <--- (Yeah Right) :-P
GEEK should be Technology, Internet-ey, Sci-Fi-ish, Braniac-ish, Nerdy/Geek actors, Star Trekish, or anything really really smart or ingenius!

I'll give you back the CUTE tag, but the GEEK tag is appropriate so if I'm going down with the ship, I'm taking all the life boats and preservers with me! They're all mine!

*Adding Geek Back To Tag

He did write that and I did write a succinct summary for each channel.

Good idea to blog. I stand by my ruling. It features a dorky geek, but it's not about geeky stuff (e.g., science, technology). What say the rest of ye?

joedirtsays...

Well this might be a rare expection video. But it is *geek . Now if they didn't have this nerdy guy, then probably not. So where does an Urkele video fit? I think the rare videos that portray nerds and/or make fun of nerds, or the majority with are the geeky stuff (science, etc.) count.
