Call me cautious but I could never walk around crowded downtown streets with headphones on. I've got to be aware of my surroundings because anything could happen - a car sliding out of control, police chase, red light runners, pickpockets, you name it. Sitting on a bus or park bench is different, but actively moving about with all that traffic going on would demand my full attention.

^I'm the opposite. I live in NYC, and I NEED my headphones to drown out all the noise and craziness that's going around me. It helps a lot.
