What if the Middle East's borders were redrawn?

What if the Sykes-Picot Agreement never came to fruition? That was the treaty drawn up between France & Britain on how to divide up the lands/people claimed by the then-fallen Ottoman Empire after the conclusion of World War I. Many are familiar with part of the story involving T.E. Lawrence's promise to the Arabs for their own State and Rule, yet later found they had been betrayed and lands carved up not to their liking. Some claim that that "agreement" alone has led to the situation with the Daesh ("Islamic State"). Could there have been a different outcome?
