Well first sift in a very long while. Where have I been, well that is complicated. The short of the long story is overcoming a lot of my puedo-scientific beliefs. With a name that no longer reflects who I am, I think it is appropriate to keep posting under it as evidence of the intelectual scars that go with human growth and understand... basically, how wrong we often are until we come into correctness.

And to that end, a video on risk communication of one of those things for which I was formerly intellectually dishonest on (expousing an opinion before I was qualified enough to have one), the risk of vaccines as it relates to peoples outrage instead of the hazard.

(using the politics tab as a large part of this is public health and safety, which I generally associate with politics)

"This is Part One of a three-part October 27, 2010 interview with risk communication expert Peter M. Sandman. The main focus of the interview is on public skepticism about vaccination safety -- and especially on what vaccination proponents do that exacerbates the skepticism and what they can do to ameliorate it.
Part One discusses: kinds of vaccination audiences -- apathetic versus hostile; suppressing the other side's 5% of the truth; being empathic and being accountable; etc."
