notarobotsays...They guys in the car are the real assholes here.
Unless this is staged, which seems possible. Strange that the pedestrian and cyclist crossed the street and turned around, to wait by a puddle, isn't it.
newtboyjokingly says...So, you're one of those....people who think that if they're looking at their cell phone, everyone else better just look out for them, not the other way around, and walking down the middle of the road while tweeting is just everyone else's problem? Hmmmm.

BSRsays...It's strange if you don't have all the facts. He could have doubled back to refill his water bottle. I just want to believe it was real, I guess.

notarobotsays...Not at all.
They two pedestrians should have moved over for the car in the first place.
Why didn't they? Can't be sure.
Was there a giant puddle they were avoiding? That's not clear. It looks like there was a sidewalk, but still no bike lane for the cyclists who starts the video avoiding other traffic on a narrow road.
One thing that is clear is that it's not the pedestrians who started yelling. Even if the pedestrians were in the wrong for not yielding to the vehicle (they should have moved over) it was the driver who escalated the situation. This makes the driver the biggest jerk.
(I still think it looks staged.)

newtboysays...And they didn't...ever. They intentionally blocked the road....for no reason...after the bike cut off traffic in the other direction by illegally crossing. To my eyes, that makes them the original offenders and the intentional assholes.
Honking at a douchbag walking in the middle of the road, seemingly oblivious on his phone, and yelling "move" seems quite restrained compared to most drivers here in America in the same position, imo.
I do agree, it seems overly convenient that they cross and turn around to be next to the puddle.

We can disagree about who the biggest jerk was in the situation, but all of them are jerks at some level.
Jerks on stage.
They intentionally blocked the road....for no reason...
Jinxsays...You can't really say the driver started it for much the same reasons you can't be definite about their reasons for meandering in the road.
Buuuuuut....since we are all bein innanet jurors I surmise that the plebestrians had been obstructed traffic for some time. Mayhaps it was some sort of revenge play followin an earlier altercation or maybe there were just being dicks. We don't know. No witnesses have presented. I'd guess they turned back around because they had detoured to block the prolemobile.
Anyhoo. Fine for littering & obstruction of a highway for the wet muppets. Fine for use of a horn in anger or frustration and deliberate splashing of pedestrians for the dry muppets. JUSTICE SERVED. Let their stupidity go some way to filling a pothole somewhere.

shagen454says...Yeah, I don't buy it. They see the car stop and they supposedly turn around walking on the opposite side of the street on the sidewalk? I doubt it, if you've ever been in a defensive situation like that - where you don't know what an angry asshole is going to do - you probably turn around in your tracks and probably walk off the street to make sure the guy isn't going to try to run you over - so that is why I don't get why they would have all of a sudden crossed the street (losing time and putting themselves in the line of fire) and gotten on the sidewalk conveniently located next to a puddle.
Second thing is - right when he turns around and the camera has view of the puddle - he says, "pricks.... there's a puddle there!" I just don't buy it.
dannym3141says...If this was real, the chavs deserved soaking. Anyone saying they were in the road for good reasons a) has never met one, b) can't explain why they start swearing and throwing missiles instead of the usual british thing of holding a hand up (suggesting 'sorry' and 'fuck off' in equal measure), and c) don't explain why they're on BOTH sides of the road.
Mookalsays...I'll throw my hat into the internet justice ring for funsies.
I'm guessing the "pro cyclist" folks that view this have never lived in a location with:
1.) A city that spends millions of tax revenue on shared roads, road diets and special lanes for cyclists
2.) A large population of self righteous, passive aggressive cyclists that ignore road warnings, laws or common sense
3.) Or had their vehicle leaned on, mirrors folded in, kicked/punched or spat on while sitting at a traffic crossing
As a cyclist and motorist, I'm glad they got soaked.
toferyusays...100% staged
Too obvious
Unnecessary commenting for camera
