UN Inquiry finds Israel guilty of war crimes in Gaza

A United Nations report on Israel's war on Gaza says war crimes were committed by both sides in the conflict. But most of the criticism was directed at Israel's conduct. Richard Goldstone, the judge leading the investigation, said Israel had used excessive force and deliberately targeted Palestinian civilians. On behalf of the UN’s Human Rights Council, the investigators have collected evidence, testimonies and even satellite imagery to get an idea of whether Israel or Palestinian factions were in breach of international humanitarian law. Sherine Tadros, Al Jazeera's correspondent in Gaza City, reports on the investigation's findings.

From the perspective of someone who lives in a country that lauds the state of Israel as being a moral democracy, and condemns bin ladin for being a killer and terrorist.

I think the actions of both entities should be regarded the same. I am quite sure that israel, for example, has killed more children than bin ladin.

.....I guess someone could then ask, how many children has the US killed.....

I haven't read the report, and have a very limited knowledge of it's content.
That being said, there are a lot of Israelis who came forward to testify before the committee while it was conducting it's inquiry, and say the attention they got was very mild. One person said judge Goldstone actually fell asleep while he was talking.

No UN investigation, though, huh...

How many children has bin Ladin killed?

According to the first thing that came up in Google Isreali troops have caused the deaths of 1400 children since the year 2000... not to mention collateral deaths from denial of basic infrastructure in Palestinian areas that could be blamed on other deaths.
According to CNN 8 children died on 9/11 (on the planes). I suppose there might have been kids on the USS Cole or the African embassies but I doubt it.

So - Isreal, a country that we (the US) supports with allot of money and vetos to UN resolutions has very conservatively killed 175 times more children than the world renowned organizer of killings Osama Bin Laden from what I can tell.

You still want to ask that question?

Now that I know you're Israeli, this comment makes a lot more sense.

I'd love to see both Israel and the Bush administration brought to justice. Mentioning one doesn't excuse the other, though.
