The plane crossing the runway would still be on the runway when the plane landing touched down. They were probably less than ten seconds from a collision.
Shepppardsays...Ehh.. I disagree. While personally I think it's better that it happened this way than risk it, I think there was tons of room. The obstructing plane is basically off the track by the time the landing plane kicks back into gear, and that's with him revving the engines back up to get enough lift to take back off.
The key thing here isn't if he had enough space though, it's WHO THE FUCK LET A PLANE CROSS ON A LIVE RUNWAY?!
Someone is at fault for going here, weather it's the traffic controller for giving the green light, the pilot (obstructing plane) for just going, or the Pilot (landing plane) for landing too soon, someone somewhere fucked up that one.
