That's crazy. I can't believe that they had to do that. The only downside is that you probably have to hit it dead on to do any sort of damage. You need to install more than one and who knows how much that is going to cost, these things could cost a quarter of a million dollars.

PS: Wouldn't a huge wall that pops up be more ideal/safe for the surrounding area?

Also, whoever would be in the cab of that truck would most definitely die on impact...if they were going that fast.
