Good summary. You pretty much nail it - ugly suits, impractical, but interesting view of Vietnam.

I wish I could take this video back ~40 years in time and ask JFK and LBJ if trying to prevent this was worth the lives of 60K American GIs and god knows how many Vietnamese.

As usual with top gear 99% of the stuff is staged ('oh my! the ceiling fan') but impressive images nonetheless

Yeah that's the real sad part, we don't know how many Vietnamese because we don't count our victims. Could be 2-3-4 million by some estimates.

Great episode though, I was just talking to a vet who said Vietnam was the prettiest country he's ever been to. It really is, it's amazing and I love how well Top Gear did this episode.
