St. Peterburg, FL - Newly released dash cam video shows how Pinellas County deputies responded as they followed three teenagers who they say crashed a stolen car into a St. Petersburg pond and died.
One clip shows one deputy speaking to another next to the pond. “They’re done,” the deputy tells the other. “They’re done.” At one point, the deputy says he can hear the girls screaming, but still does nothing.
At a news conference following the early morning crash on March 31, Sheriff Bob Gualtieri CLAIMED deputies took off their belts and tried to rush into the water to save the girls. The sheriff said they didn’t get far. But dash cam video released Monday only shows deputies standing near the pond, watching the girl’s car sink and calling for back up.
So far no charges are pending, not even administrative charges. I call this murder plain and simple, they chased the car into the water and sat back and watched 3 teenagers drowned, then lie and claim they tried to save them. There's little in the video besides audio proving they never made ANY attempt to save them, but technically it is snuff, so if it gets killed, I understand.
