tremorsays...Nope...this doesn't do it for me
SnakePlisskensays...I'd be more impressed if they'd explained what they planned to achieve before taking the shot.
As it is, it looks like luck.
skfortysays...im torn...i mean, it was a great shot...but its curling
Kruposays...They're team yellow - the goal is to knock out the red rocks from the bullseye so they can score points. And they did it spectacularly - they didn't move their own rock in the process.
And I'm ever-more obviously Canadian b/c it made complete sense to me.
Anlizsays...Im with skforty and SnakePlissken on this...
Luck and Curling? Doesnt quite do it for me
charlatantricsays...No luck involved, just pinpoint precision in a shot that had probably less than a 0.02% margin of error.
djsunkidsays...Does anybody else find it just a little bit odd that we're watching a Canadian Curler, curling in Italy, on an American website, with commentary in Japanese??? Crazy...
Alaksays...Finland got owned. I was waiting for the tragically hip to show up and congratulate them.
bnsasays...What does that scraping/brushing that they do?
therealblankmansays...Scrubbing and sweeping do 2 things:
1: Light sweeping simply clears the ice of debris, snow, and ice flakes, which might deflect the path of the oncoming rock
2: Heavy HARD! sweeping actually melts the top surface of the ice, creating a thin layer of liquid water over which the rock moves more swifty, allowing it to carry more mometum and travel further down the rink.
-Canadian, 'eh?
