paul4dirtsays...pretty scary though.. it starts with plants....
Nebosukesays...GE is doing something similar in Japan: http://www.gereports.com/post/91250246340/lettuce-see-the-future-led-lighting-helps-farming
I suppose lettuce is chosen due to it's quick maturation time.
Gutspillersays...Notice not a single mention of nutrients it has.
deathcowsays...Looks great. Funny though with the push for natural energy to push food production to electrical and not solar.
iauisays...I really think "Deliscious" is about putting extra 's's in words that don't need them. Damn, I went back and looked and that's their brand name. I have to admit I have a distinct abhorrent reaction when I see that word. I'm not quite able to put my finger on it but I hate that word.
(Which may make it good and distinctive branding, who knows...)
But yay for a plant manufacturing plant.
robbersdog49says...To be fair this was hardly a top to bottom technical exposé of the process...

Gutspillersays...True, but somehow I think that if someone were to try and live on only this type of food, you could see a difference between them, and someone who ate food that was "outside" (IE: Sun, etc.).
To be fair this was hardly a top to bottom technical exposé of the process...

Paybacksays...I wonder what the carbon footprint of a single crop in that building is compared to a similar sized plot of land.
siftbotsays...Farm of the Future Uses No Soil and 95% Less Water has been added as a related post - related requested by blacklotus90 on that post.
