siftbotsays...Moving this video to dingens's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
braindonutsays...I dunno if I can do this or not... never tried... but I think this is good enough to *promote
siftbotsays...Invocations (promote) cannot be called by braindonut because braindonut is not privileged - sorry.

siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by gwiz665.
RedSkysays...Just like the video about motivation, this is absolutely mind blowing.
TickTocksays...A great video for Athiests I think. Science can tell us where we get our morals from, why we do the right thing and would do it even if we don't practice religion.
There's a talk on TED by Sam Harris about this exact thing:

Pretty important stuff if you ask me.
Trancecoachsays...Been reading Rifkin's book for the past few weeks. He makes a compelling case.
I first got interested after listening to his hour-long interview on the radio.

MaxWildersays...This is how I've lived for some time. I realized during my 20s that empathy is extended to those we see aspects of ourselves in. It makes me both mad at and feel pity for people who use the term "bleeding heart liberal", since they have identified themselves as empathy-impaired and utterly unfit for any role in governing. It's why I don't hate terrorists, but pity them, realizing the immense pain they must have endured to snuff out all sense of empathy in their hearts. We are all related, as was mentioned in the video (although the Adam and Eve bit was a huge over-simplification).
And I am slowly developing a sense of empathy toward all animals (rather than just those we consider pets). I can tell because I am starting to feel more and more guilt when eating meat and other animal products. After all, we are animals too. And I would not want to live and die like on some factory farm.
kymbossays...Bill Hicks was saying this decades ago. Inspired.
