Sad to see him actually retire this time... of course I guess there is a chance he might un-retire and give us another masterpiece... Reminds myself I still need to see My Neighbor Totoro...

Totoro is the greatest all around film he made. I'm a little envious you get to experience it for the first time.

And yeah, his son isn't too hot at picking up where his dad left off, but Miyazaki deserves a good retirement. He's left us decades of the greatest animation ever made.

I'm surprised to see him come out with another film. I thought he had retired already. Looking forward to this one.

He's been retiring since Mononoke... Maybe this time it's for real, but I'll believe it when he retires from life, which hopefully is not for awhile yet so that he has the time to reconsider yet again

According to a NYE broadcast in Japan, it seems like he won't be retiring after all LOL. Also turns out I was mistaken about how long he's been retiring, it was actually earlier, after Laputa.
