The Speaking Clock

A short film about the automatic "Speaking Clock" being installed in Melbourne, Australia to provide time service for phone customers.

I had the good fortune to see one of these at the Science Museum in London in operation, with the unusual but very cool recordings on glass disc. Impressive and clever technology for the mid 50s.
