Farhad2000says...I love these, really shows the power of editing.
fireflysays...Me too, "Shining" is still my favorite
brosethsays...I agree that Robert Ryang's "The Shining" remains the best of the trailer re-cuts so far.
This one caught my eye for its better-than-usual editing and sense of the trailer as genre. I also think that it's far too easy to re-cut as a horror film, & we're swamped in those, so it's refreshing to see imagination working in the opposite direction.
Kruposays...Aw, in the sprit of must love jaws - Front page - go!
I would love to show this to someone unfamiliar with the real thing and then get them to watch it; particularly someone who gets frightened by these movies easily.
siftbotsays...Tags changed from "trailer, parody, tearjerker, drama" to "trailer, parody, tearjerker, ring, recut" by gold star member joemawlma.
Semiapiessays...Editing is a powerful tool, but so is music. I remember when they aired previews for Eyes Wide Shut. Initially, they used a eerie piano piece. Shortly after that, though, they changed the music to Chris Isaak's "Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing". The clip was entirely unchanged, but the mood was completely different.
Anyone know the piece in this recut? I know I've heard it before in trailers.
