CamWsays...I remember when I first had anything to do with Harry Potter was the first book which I read after the movie adaption had already been released. I would have been about twenty five at the time and it was more curiosity then anything because the series was so damned popular by that stage and not just with kids it seemed. It blew me away for one simple reason. Reading it brought back childhood memories of the books that had captured my imagination when i had been very young. Specifically the works of Roald Dahl in the way they can ignite the imagination and create wonderment without talking down to a child. The way this series of books has had young children lining up at book stores gives me a lot of hope for the future. I love videogames myself so don't take this as an attack on them in anyway but in the world of XBox360s and PS3s I love the fact that millions of kids got excited about a book.
budzossays...Never read the books. Have to admit I enjoy the movies quite a lot. Surely if I were 20 years younger I'd be obsessed with Harry Potter.
gwiz665says...The sixth book was by far the best, so I just hope they don't fuck up the movie. *crosses fingers*
