siftbotsays...This video has been flagged as being at least 10 minutes in length - declared long by Deano.
reiwansays...tool-assisted typically means that they used some application to allow the user to do things he couldnt normally do if he played the game legitly

Well, to their credit, usually it is save states which work like a save game but at your exact location in the game...so it is like an instant recall to a previous point. There are other tools as well which are programmable, but that is the most minimal way to make a run.
popeysays...those bowser stages are insane
everything else is "how much we can break this game?"
BicycleRepairMansays...You should include the YT description, as it clears up pretty well how the movie was made:
This run was made on an emulator, with slow speeds, frame-by-frame shooting, and re-recordings. It is not meant to show skill, but rather the game pushed to its limits, because it is purely a form of entertainment. TAS, I am guessing, is an acronym for Tool-Assisted Speedrunning.
Aemaethsays...I'm not sure weather to call that sad or good...
ElessarJDsays...Regardless of hax or assisting tools (heh tool)... the parts where he/she actually runs around jump-diving with extreme precision is most impressive.
AnimalsForCrackerssays...There's just something innately wrong with seeing one of my all-time favorite games being bungled with in such a way. Game Genie, be damned, from a "pushing-the-tech-to-its-limits" standpoint it's pretty neat, though.
