eric3579says...*quality
siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by eric3579.
ryminsays...Thanks for posting this xxovercastxx. I'm a huge fan of this song, video, and album in general. If you haven't gotten a pair of really nice headphones and listened to an uncompressed version of this song you should definitely check it out. The production and nuance is unbelievable.
alwayssays...I purchased The Downward Spiral for the first time in the summer of 1996, when I was thirteen. It was on audio cassette. I would listen to it on my Sony Walkman headphones in the dark after bedtime. Sometimes I would get so scared I'd have to turn it off without making it through both sides all the way to "Hurt." I hadn't ever taken church that seriously, and hearing Trent snarl "god is dead" just seemed to affirm my growing suspicions. I discovered a darkness in myself that summer, a darkness that remains with me to this day. I've since purchased it over a dozen times to give as a gift to friends or to replace my copy which had worn out
There it is. Fan boy gush gush. Hate if you want.
Croccydilesays...Awesome. One of the best music videos to go along with a great song. It was a while though till I got to see the version without all the "Scene Missing" inserts they had to use for TV. Thanks internet!
HenningKOsays...Trent reminds me so much of Bob Odenkirk's snotty musician from Smoosh (Mr. Show). The likeness and the 'tude are uncannily similar.
arvanasays...Utterly fantastic. *promote
siftbotsays...Promoting this video back to the front page; last published Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 5:17pm PDT - promote requested by arvana.
Asmosays...Great sift.
Got a lot of respect for Mr. Reznor but it's nice to hear from those that also did a buttload of hard work to make him look good. ; )
joe2says...great album, interesting video, thanks

I can relate to your story, except that I was listening to Emperor's "In the Nightside Eclipse" during a bloodletting orgy with a blindfold on.
rasch187says...*rocknroll, dude
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Rocknroll) - requested by rasch187.
blankfistsays...I remember the Downward Spiral concert also showcased the Jim Rose Circus, which was awesome. I don't know what happened to my concert t-shirt.
It's really bizarre to see Trent looking that young. He was older than me in '94, at least by 4 or more years. I used to worship the 90s music, especially the more industrial and gritty music. Somehow that whole scene seems somewhat cheesy by today's standards.
