The Iron Giant Says Goodbye (spoiler!)

(SPOILER ALERT!)................................
The Iron Giant protects his new-found friend Hogarth. After a battle with the military, the Giant sacrifices himself to save the town.
I've also included a link to a deleted scene "Robot's Dream", which would have taken place after the "souls don't die" scene:

Great movie...one of my favorite parts is when the Giant loses it and we finally get to see what he is capable of.

The ending reminded me of a movie I used to watch when I was a kid that I called "Giant Robot" only later did I find out the movie was really called "Voyage Into Space" which I also found out was just several episodes edited together from a show called "Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot".

Interesting tidbit. In "The Incredibles", Helen calls out the ID of here plane, India Golf Niner Niner. That is Iron Giant, which was out in 1999, since Brad Bird was involved in both projects.
