It's great that these two have gone on to do their own things and been rewarded for the them (the Report, the Office, etc), but DAMN I miss this part of the Daily Show!!! The correspondents they have now just can't compare.

I think Carell has talent but whenever I see Colbert - writing from the UK I hadn't heard of him until the White House Correspondent's dinner controversy - he seems quite clever but I don't find him particuraly funny.

Colbert is my personal favourite, despite that I can't see how you cannot find him funny. He's the reason I started watching the Daily Show.
